Personally, I'd rather hear the sounds of a finely tuned V8 with a nice cam. The best sounding V8's were the old 54, 55,56 and 57 Fords...something about the Firing order made them music to one's ears.

Agreed. Home theater and car audio are a different area for bass. Some movie special effects need the earth to move for realism in home theater. Car bass is more a macho thing like the roar of the engine and the exhaust note, imo. It has nothing to do with audio fidelity or accuracy, but it does evoke certain emotional reactions.

Ran into a very old Kenwood receiver, was being thrown out...all it needs is it's tuner cleaned...sounds good, but this is not the really old stuff we are talking about.

The trick is with low base frequencies is to allow it to be felt but not to the point of making an earthquake. This is the problem with sub woofers in cars, it rattles the crap out of them creating even more distortions. But!...how else would we know the Pizza man is coming 4 miles away...LMAO

Thanks, DOB. I'll be doing auditions for retailers in NYC soon. Our markup may not support their overhead though. If not, there are other channels that we are looking into in that market. We're also working on additional audio product development;^) Top quality sound is paramount.

I doubt your ears can hear the lowest frequencies, but your body can feel them. The standard for human ability to hear is 20Hz to 20KHz; that's the reasoning behind of our company name, Ten Octave Audio.

I'm a big fan of vintage stereo gear. I have a few 45-50 year old receivers and they all need some TLC on the electronics bench to be good as new. The early audio geniuses created some wonderful devices and provided opportunity for all of us learn to appreciate music.

    I hope you do Fantabulous!

Wondering if my Bose Base speaker could handle 15Hz...I am thinking it could but I'd take it out of the cabinet though. Also wondering if my Receiver has a pre-amp input/bypass...ah, it's nothing special...someday I'll replace it.
