Now these are just employees. What is more interesting is when you start getting into salary, because those 50% of teachers (at least in my state) only make about 30% of the pay...

    One problem with this is instructional time has increased as state test scores idd not increase satisfactorily

      Do you want kids trained to take tests well or know the material well?

      I have to side with Sal Khan when he discusses mastering the material as being the ultimate goal. And I find myself using his site daily to fill in the gaps in my education. I'm astounded by how many I have discovered already.

      Of course, it doesn't pay to teach.
