Then there are the times the military acts under the radar. I once had a bio lab partner, who was a Vietnam Vet. He quit the Army after he was put on assignment in the SW, adding drugs to water supply of Indians, and tracking how they reacted to the various dosing. Indians were unaware, it was all Army. He said it made him sick to watch, and he did not continue his career with the Army.

Generally, domestic incidents are subject to local authority - not Federal authority. A State Governor can call for the National Guard to assist but those units directly report to the Governor in the first place. Regular military units report to the President of the United States, and Presidential jurisdiction only extends to putting down domestic insurrections the States are incapable of dealing with (see the Civil War).

This reminds me of when they were going to use emissions from cell phone towers to control crowds. The military also experimented with trying to send electricity via microwave transmissions, did not work well. This appears to work, but remember the danger of electromagnetics on humans. How long before teh Dems use it to target conservatives? Why did they not try it out at the riots in the Northwest this past year?

jbrenner you beat me to it. Biden Harmonizer it is. After reading all the comments of Gulchers who know more about microwave than I do, I have to ask--am I correct in concluding this broadcasting device could be easily dialed up to lethal levels and that it could screw up electronic devices like pacemakers and auto ignitions? Being the owner of both, I have concerns (understatement intended).

3.2 mm wave length will not penetrate most substances so it will only work on bare skin unless they turn up the power to dangerous levels.

If political correctness doesnt work, perhaps the death ray can be used to keep citizens in line. I am sure they thought of this and will be happy to use it against protestors (lets call them rioters first tho)

If the Liberals don't want you to have a rifle because it's painted black, what makes you think they'll allow the general public to have these?

Geez, connect a small one to a movement flood light to ward off unwanted predators. Chase away the occasional bear in the trash, the regular deer in the yard, the meth addict looking for something to pawn. Just turn it off when granny goes for a walk.

Recalling me old dino growing up with all those atom bomb test radioactity mutated monster movies and having collected all the Resident Evil DVDs,
I can easily imagine such a "harmless heat ray weapon" inspiring a screenplay writer to come up with a new way to make zombies or psychotic maniacs.

This is just a beam forming radar in the microwave frequency range. It has been around for 15 years. Used to be called "dial a pain" colloquially. Really effective. Too bad it isn't used more widely, but there are Geneva Convention concerns.

Wish Trump had changed his physical wall to a virtually wall, with sensor-towers, and tools like this.

đź‘Ť Probably already have one in the Pentagon. Point it at the oval office, turn it on, and ... no change.

This device heats cells up to 50 degrees Celsius. Cells die at 43 degrees Celsius.

Yup. The physics are interesting. The amazing thing is the range they're able to get on this - 700 yards with nearly pinpoint accuracy. That's some pretty amazing antenna tuning they've put into that thing to create such a focused lobe of energy.

Every weapon is dangerous when used with animosity or malice by psychopaths . Thanks for sharing.
