My folks left my sister and me in a French Quarter hotel room at 8 yr and 7yr old while they went out dancing. No big deal in a free country.

Big deal in a police state like America today.
I'm glad real Americans helped the family recover from that idiocy.

When old me dino was 10 I'd sometimes ride my bike 20 times the distance that I rode my bike 7 blocks to school.
That's how I reached a store where bought my war comic book. My mother threw it in the trash! And that was back when there was a comic book code that did away with trash.

The girl was 10 years old...in my day, that was old enough to be left alone at home for a while...I was and grew up the better for it.
These days, it's a crime to leave a 21 year old alone for too long!
