If he continues as he has, he will remake them that way.
The world doesn't need a 'kinder and gentler' Clint Eastwood making a 'Woke Harry' series.
'Feel lucky, punk?' would translate to ''It's Your lucky day. Don't worry, you'll be out on bail in a few minutes to continue your peaceful demonstration."
'Go Ahead, Make my Day'. would be ''C'mon man, please don't hurt me. Would you please put on these handcuffs, kind sir?"

I had a similar experience with Cuban refugees. They were convinced that they would be mugged and raped when they came to the US. (An example of just how bad real communism must be if believing that they still wanted to come here.)
They got these false beliefs from “Hollywood” through smuggled VHS tapes. It took 2 months before I could convince them that if they left a window open at night they wouldn’t wake up dead.

I landed back here after a couple of days and it makes me wonder if the Hollywood culture vultures are waiting for Clint Eastwood to die so they can remake his movies into a woke wuss mess.

Woke Hollywood doesn't want strong characters to continue in the same vein. It's tear down the movie hero time. They rather kill off the cinema heroes male or female because they are a threat to their deconstructing society.

Agreed. Box office gold turned to shit. Craig was the biggest wuss and lest innovative Bond ever. He was a great punching bag and that's about it.I still cringe thinking of the monkey fist. Having handled a few on occasion, never made one myself, there is no way any man with nuts could keep his composure or tolerate the pain...but then Craig had no nuts.

Bond has been pathetic since 2006 when the character was literally and figuratively castrated.
Clint is over the hill. No more heroes there either.
Woke Hollywood destroys everything it touches.

I don't begin to understand Hollywood. No class, no restraint, too much adrenaline, too little philosophy, and no real men. Even watching the new Bond, sorry, he just does not ring complete, to little interest in women, too much action, but boy those Aston Marins still rule. Recently saw "Cry Macho" and Clint seems to get it, he is a complete guy, still goes from understated to macho. I get John Dutton on "Yellowstone", from his soul to his,we have to kill them." Girls want to be guys in movices and guy want to be soft and fluffy. World is crazy, and that is why Chiina is limiting now exposure to Hollywood and video games. Steed and Emma Peel, the perfect partners, intelligent, brave, comfortable in their own sexuality. If a hero is brainless, he is not a hero. What is with all the over the hill starlets need for taking their clothers off to get on Fox Nws site? Is that all they are? Today's dids did not see TV cowboys who saved the day and ended with a song, or Fred Astair who would dance with the best, and look sexy in a tux. A hero is not about costuems to make the look tough, it is about being thoughful, yet willing to kill to protect.

Except for here in the Gulch, I'm getting news and manipulated weary, too, term2. I used to be a news junkie, but now I may watch or listen to snippets that I no longer really pay attention to because it's the same crap all the time and nothing ever gets corrected. In the evening I use the AppleTV box to click on the Youtube app and pick out a couple of new news items that are different as before (as long as they're not too long) and then move on to science or mechanical videos to see how stuff works.

I am so tired of being manipulated by media and pundits. Even fox leads me down the path. Time to just get on with my own life, and forget about most of what goes on in the world with people I dont even know.

I agree with you on all this. I discovered kindle and I read books now. Latest one is TUXEDO PARK, the real story of the development of radar in WW2. I never learned this in history class in government schools....

I find whats on YouTube is more interesting nowadays. I get a lot of information about fixing things that break on YouTube. Its like the real world, as opposed to propaganda world.

I agree. Todays movies are designed as propaganda. I like movies where I learn something, or at least can see honesty.

I havent thought about it, but I havent watched a new movie in quite awhile. Most of my previously favorite actors are leftists and I scratched them off my favorite list anyway.

I think the idea was if you spent 10k to "buy your own book" for a week you would appear on the list. The list itself wasn't forsale per say.

It certainly is political. Just ask Jordan Peterson about that...

Yes, primarily that's what I read. I learned a while back when I was part of the Arizona Authors Association that the NY Time best seller moniker is adulation you pay to receive, back then I was told it was $10k. That instantly soured my opinion of authors/novels/movies wearing that distinction.

$10/mo. to Amazon and I read all I like.

Even with books you've got to go indi authors anymore. The big publishing houses are owned by the same folks as the media companies when you get to tracing back the holding companies.

If you ever dig in to who provides your communications, and your consumer goods, you'll be amazed at what you find. When you dig down to "controlling interest" and find out who actually has voting proxy on what... well, lets just say you'll be measuring your own head for tin foil. The phrase, I must be missing something, this can't be real... will become very familiar to you....

I steam a lot of older movies from free movie sites, although, just as with contemporary movies, the majority are just as bad as today's, what the market seemed to being asked for by the public with many good ones losing money. They are like Pablum for babes to satisfy a hunger, That is not to put down Pablum which solved the malnutrition problem in babies and being wheat based kept children from having wheat allergy later in life. Today peanuts are again being introduced at younger ages to reduce peanut allergies. The immune system has to be trained in early life as to what is not foreign to the body.

I spent time working in China and was a bit surprised at how much Hollywood crap influences the Chinese peoples view of Americans. In 2006, the last time I was there, "Brokeback Mountain" was playing and I was asked to go see it with some Chinese coworkers and I refused. Some were of the mind a lot of American men cheated on their wives with other men. I got a puzzled look when I told them most of the crap coming out of Hollywood was just crap and showed nothing of the American people.

The ads seen on Internet content (I've pretty much given up on regular TV) are the same. You'd think in a country that is still roughly 75% white people you'd think that would be reflected, but you'll never know that by ad demographics. Also the constant depiction of white people (when they're depicted at all), especially white males, as idiots or numbskulls that need lessons from non-white sages is pretty much standard. Oh wait, the new trend is to make white males disappear altogether as even the white females are pared with black males - hey, white guys are all oppressors anyway, right? Do I sound like a whiny white male bigot? Tough sh-t!! I'm getting weary of this crap the same way black people did with TV representation back in the '60s and nobody called them bigots - they were called civil rights advocates (and rightfully so I must say!).

More than that. You are attacked as misogynist, and anti women. That is where the war on women is coming from. TRUTH, makes you anti-whatever their new paradigm is.

When reality conflicts with their egalitarian ideal, they will simply seek to punish anyone who speaks out and says unpopular facts. This would be fine if there weren't adverse consequences for ignoring reality. If by changing attitudes, you could in fact change the dynamic, then MAYBE the dynamic should be changed. That isn't always possible. Ignoring critical things like physics, economics, and biology, gets people killed.
