Elijah McCoy a Scottish educated engineer who invented a superior automatic oiling system for steam locomotives which allowed them to operate longer without the need to stop and manually lubricate the moving bits. His devices were the origin of the phrase "The Real McCoy" when people wanted his superior products and not cheap knock offs.

I think it's fun to understand the origin of certain phrases in our language. "The real McCoy" is one such phrase. The race of the origin should be irrelevant unless quite specific for some reason.

Ha I just realized I am color blind. , I did not realize
his race. BTW I would have still posted it.
I love stories of success and I think all humans have tremendous potential. Blacks folks have been held down by many factors almost all those factors have been intentional by the "Prussian" controllers diabolical plan to divide us.

His story is very interesting for a black man in the 19th century. He was born in Canada to runaway slaves and his primary education was at a local black school and then he went to Scotland to gain an engineering degree. Maybe not the best source, but Wikipedia has a nice entry for him worth the read.
