Minimal affect I suspect although, inflation has for a long time been on a slow creep...I suspect the lock downs and false covid 1984 panic did more to damage the, economy in waiting, for the take over by the Great Unwashed.

I remind everyone who blames Biden for inflation that the "stimulus" funny-money wasn't pumped out on his watch. At the time it was happening, did anyone here doubt that inflation would be the result?

Now that you say that, I noticed that the isles are wide like two lane hyways...I can remember not having enough room for two grocery carts in the ole days...not to mention, the distance between the packing area at each register and the front of the store has also grown by 20 feet!

I noticed something very strange at one of the larger grocery stores near me. That is some of the shelves that are used for aisles have been placed in large enclosed rectangles taking up floor space. So now there is empty space inside the rectangles where shelving with products used to be. The visible shelves are more full, but there are less shelves. Interesting!

Most of our food stores are 90% fully stocked but items we used to buy have changed or been eliminated, leaving only the pricey stuff. My wife does a good job ferreting out the good buys, pricing goofs and finding alternative stuff for dinner...now that I am home every evening.

Update. I went to B&N today and noticed the displayed book offerings were generally a political mix with a slight lean to the left (woke crap, especially). My wife got a couple of "country living style" magazines and I splurged on a great book on BBQing! Yum yum when I get better and can do such things in moderation. I live in a generally conservative area and the BBQ book was on display with other Father's Day stuff, which was devoid of anything left or woke - the local B&N manager here must know his/her customer base.

Yes, I found the meme attributed to McEnany to be VERY interesting! That could start a war, but I say bring it! Taking Schumer off to the pokey is priceless!

The cost of everything around here is getting worse and I'm seeing more empty shelves! How's it where you are?

The memes this week were all about Top Gun and gas prices...many of them just plain stupid...I start out with maybe 50 and then start thinning the herd till I get as close as I can, a cogent set and a story line of some sort.
99% of the memes out there, SUCK!

Notice that the last 6 were showing us the turn around.

OUC: These are so good. I copied 'Top Gun', 'We're Getting the Band Back Together' and "McElnany" for my two BFF's. They are both ill from Covid late onsets and they'll LTAO. One has been in the hospital since May 15 and is now in Rehab. Since she lives alone, there is a splendid Rehab with really good nurses and food in San Antonio. She is fast recovering. The other one and her husband told me half of her town is ill. She lives in a very small Texas town.

I have a gift card for B&N so I expect to be stopping in soon. I would expect to see what you are pointing out from a "woke" company.

From "Naked Gun" to "Top Gun" good choices, OUC! Yes, I remember lower gas prices on J6 as well as no baby milk shortage and lower prices everywhere.

I'm still not seeing much about the J6 TV special mocked here, appropriately, as I haven't seen it and nobody I know has, either. LOL

Actually it's our Puppet-In-Chief's Marxist handlers making it look like senile Joey is smart enough to weave us into becoming Venezuela, seeing how he is stupid enough to play the front man for going along with it.
And we're supposed to be stupid enough to look at Jan. 6 instead, forgetting that Trump authorized the National Guard troops Pelosi and Schumer did not want to have anywhere around on that date..

They do, indeed...funny, not one of these anti Trump books have I seen nor heard of on the lamestream news etc.

They continue to attempt the rewriting of history not knowing that anything printed in books, on paper, recorded on magnetic hard drives or disks will not survive the coming micronova and or magnetic reversal...their attempt is in vein.
