Anti-abortion group presses Trump to abandon states' right stance, demands nation-wide total ban

IMO, DeSantis slit his political throat in any nation-wide election by signing 6-week ban on abortion. Dems will seize on this issue and media will hype it to cover for absurd Dem policies.

GOP governors would be wise to turn back similar bills to a general referendum rather than sign or veto, and let the people of each state vote on the issue to avoid political fallout. This would be in line with SCOTUS decision stating this is a matter for each state, not for a nation-wide edict one way or the other. .

The local abortionist in Houston in the '60's was commonly called 'The Working Girls' Friend'.

Hey you couldn't get an abortion in Texas in the '60's but a lot of young ladies went across the Border to Juarez and got their abortions at a very nice hospital/clinic.

Let's don't let the camel get his nose in the tent. Protection of States Rights is above this silly abortion business. Preservation of States Rights is preeminent to any one purpose.

Just stating the obvious here. We are putting a lot of faith in the American voter’s morals. My prediction is if Trump adopts that platform and runs with it we’ll have a repeat of 2020. It won’t become law (in fact the exact opposite may happen). And we’ll have 4 more years of other assorted garbage. Again.....don’t shoot the messenger. The American Electorate just is what it is.

Where do you see the constitution covering abortion specifically?
I don't see any mention of any crimes except treason, piracy, and counterfeiting.
All other crimes are justified by the 'necessary and proper" clause which
has been used as an excuse for federal expansion into everything
that was intended explicitly to be left to the states.

Not a constitutional function of fedgov.
Of course, neither is gun "control", or "war on poverty, drugs, etc".

On Rowe/Wade, the (treasonous) SCOTUS finally got something right.
Not holding my breath on them ever getting anything else right.
