The TSA Is Still Crazy after All These Years (and Its Employees Deserve To Be Prosecuted For Assault.)

Excerpt:
"The TSA has been promising to end its boneheaded ways for more than 20 years. Flying out of Dallas International Airport last week, I ruefully recognized that all TSA reform promises are malarkey.

As I neared the end of a TSA checkpoint line, I saw two women loitering behind a roped off section for CLEAR, a new biometric surveillance program that works with 35 airports and coordinates with TSA. CLEAR involves travelers standing in photo kiosks that compare their faces with a federal database of photos from passport applications, driver’s licenses, and other sources. The Washington Post warned that airport facial recognition systems are “America’s biggest step yet to normalize treating our faces as data that can be stored, tracked and, inevitably, stolen.”

Though the CLEAR program is purportedly voluntary, TSA agents at Washington National Airport recently threatened long delays for any passenger who refused to be photographed by CLEAR, including U.S. Sen. Jeff Merkley (D-OR). Merkley said that TSA falsely claimed there were signs notifying people that the facial scans are optional. But the clock is ticking down on seeking voluntary cooperation. TSA chief David Pekoske announced in March that “eventually… we will require biometrics across the board.”"

Add this to the reasons I do not fly. Haven’t since the mid 90’s

Still? As if they would be any other way...

Airport security is one thing I would lay on the airlines themselves. They're in a much better position (called competitive pressure) to perform accurate safety checks (TSA still fails test screens at an alarming rate). Not only that, but you can bet they wouldn't be intrusive about it.

I think we ought to send all these TSA agents to the border. At least their heavy-handed incompetency would be par for the course...

For enjoyable air travel go to an air show where private owners of antique aircraft are showing their gems. Or do like I did in 1990 when one flew overhead and I called the airport to find out who was up there in a Tin Goose. It was Al Cheney in N7584 as shown here: https://trimotors.awiggins.com/fordli...
Capt. Al was doing rides for $20. Irresistible.

    Theater of Security Administration.
    Populated by painfully-unaccomplished, envy-intoxicated, compliant, sub-literate, power-hungry, pension-whores.
It is an exercise in pure willpower to hold my tongue when moving through that damned cattle chute.
TSA is just another government grifter program.

The TSA and Homeland Security department were instituted after 9/11. Both are useless departments IMO. We are anything but secure at our borders or in the skies.

Me old dino has not been in the air since 1980 due to a lack of any need to be and I hope my luck holds out.
My first memory is that of a four-year-old (1950 maybe) on a passenger plane looking out a window down at several rows of parked airplanes I have no idea where.
Lost count of how many times I flew during the Fifties, Sixties and the Seventies. Always enjoyable for air travel being in another world back then.

CLEAR is not new. It has been around for 10 years. However, with TSA Pre, it seems largely irrelevant.

I stood back while a sweet little lady from Ireland moved in front of me, taught to respect my elders, we were both taken to the side to the point of almost strip search. Sweet lady in her beautiful way of speaking looked at me and stated...I will never fly again!

So they are not taking people photos or scanning their eyes as part of our travel? I have never gotten comfortable with TSA. In most of my travels they have hounded and harassed me. I don't know why. I've never even had a speeding ticket. They've opened my pants, grabbed my leg when I've come out of the xray machine, grabbed my junk. looked at my John Thomas. I just don't get it. I've longed for the acquisition of an RV so that I can just start driving everywhere. Then, for some reason, about 4 years ago they started to back off of me. I don't know why, but the harassment stopped. One time, when I was flying out of Hawaii they went through my bags seven times! Seven...

Our own mother couldn't tell our voices apart on the telephone. That worked out well a few times. NB

When my sister and her husband were students at the U. of Texas, I spent a night and my sister and I both laid down in the same bed. Her husband, had been late at the library, and he came in the bedroom and kissed me on the cheek saying, 'Good night, sweetheart.' I murmured, 'Same to you, darling' and he let out a yell, jumping away from the bed.' I got a good laugh at that! nb

I went to court in Galveston and the Judge pointed at me and called me up to the bench and said, "I recognized you instantly. I have an 8 x 10 photo in this file of your sister. You are identical. My sister was very ill, hospitalized, and I was being appointed her Guardian and Fiduciary! nb

You know what? I can't tell you how many times someone has insisted I was someone else. A man chased me through the train depot in Little Rock insisting I was someone else. I am a double for my sister. For 4 years, my teachers called me by her name (she was 18 months older than me). I have a photo of us in the backyard sitting on a blanket. Both of us had curlers in our hair and I don't know which of us is which! Facial recognition be damned!. NB

I wonder about the election as well. All (D) candidates are awful and they know it. If the commies think they got it fixed the election will definitely happen no matter who their candidate is. Outside of that cynical me thinks maybe, maybe not. Halting or postponing a US Presidential election for whatever reason will have world shaking impact. All hell would break loose. Maybe the commies don't care at this point, but I suspect they do because they want to control the fall and to survive it.

At this point, I doubt it will get that far.
I wonder if an election will be allowed next year.
The traitors in DC may declare martial law after they create an "emergency"
with a false flag event, just as they did on Jan 6 2021, and as they probably
    did on 9-11-01.
The Deep State is the evil empire and their power comes from control in D.C.

I suspect the commie government control freaks will still want the jackboot squads to make a presence. Their omnipresent compliance officers will always need a handy team of thugs to keep the serfs in line.

They won't need officers in those places if they control your ability to buy everything from tickets to fuel to food to drugs.

I had a crappy experience with T-S-A and refuse to fly anymore. I predict, as true to form for any bureaucracy, full airport presence won't satiate their hunger for control of fellow citizens and their operation will expand to train stations and even grocery stores.
