Unfortunately, I think the incessant, pounding message to the obedient press that Trump will impose a Nazi style tyrannical government if elected is a purposeful attempt to goad psychopathic individuals to attempt to assassinate Trump. Worse yet, they may stage the attempt and have a compliant Secret Service member "accidentally" shoot Trump. I hope he has his own security team at hand.

The military hasn't been entirely purged, so I suspect any demand for wide spread martial law will result in an internal war within the military.

You're correct about both of those statements, but one other thing they consider is their own necks.

Here's the way it may actually go down: Texas is declared an insurrectionist state because of the way illegal immigrants are being treated (under the still active Insurrection Act of 1807, the President can declare a state insurrectionist if he feels state residents are being denied civil rights), Abbot is removed, and martial law is imposed on the state. MAGA or not, Texans won't take kindly to that, and they're well armed.

I'm hoping that if the administration is that desperate, some General is going to have the balls to remind the prez that under the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ) he is obligated to refuse to obey any order he believes is unconstitutional, and that he is advising all service members join him in disobeying any orders related to imposing martial law on any state.

The dems would simply kill Trump or anyone like him if they could get away with it. They think they couldn't get away with that, so they are trying any other way they can think of. I'm in the school that does not TRUST where this current admin is concerned. The one thing we have never seen is accountability after any of their screw ups.

Some of us believe that President Trump has his own security force. Some others of us believe that they themselves are part of his security force. A few of us see it slightly differently, and still Trust The Plan.

As for the military, the commies have been purging them for years. I have no doubt a lot of them would follow the order to attack American citizens.

If they can't jail Trump and his numbers continue to rise he is going to need a bulletproof glass dome to do his rallying in. If I were him I would trust no one from the DS including his SS detail.

+1 for your edited add. I've said before that their arrogance knows no limits. I've often wondered (and mentioned here a few times) whether the Libs are using A.S. as a playbook, but in all of their arrogance, they think they can make it work where it didn't for James Taggart and the rest. I mean, they truly think they know what's best for everyone, so their arrogance is on full display every damn day.

Hate to say it, but I consider this scenario a very real possibility.

In that event, it'll be interesting to see if efforts to wokify the military/national guard play to the benefit of Dems, and whether or not Dems will arm an illegal alien army in an attempt to stay in power. I'm sure that 25 million illegal aliens won't show any mercy to "insurrectionists" as they have no allegiance to the Constitution--but only to the Dem dictator who happens to be fighting to stay in power.

I suspect if a heavily armed MAGA base were goaded into that kind of insurrection at this time no amount of martial law will save the commies from the guillotine or noose. I think they know it, so I don't think they will do it. They will continue to plague Trump in hopes of eroding the base. If by some chance he gets in they will find a way to neuter his presidency like the last time and try again in 2028. They are close to their single party rule and won't blow it now. Just thinkin'.
