I received my Atlas Shrugged I & II yesterday. I thoroughly enjoyed I; however, i was very disappointed with the different cast in II. The first cast had vitality, but the second cast seemed rather bland. I don't know why a different cast was chosen, but i believe it was a major error. I still enjoyed the movie and i do realize just how difficult making a movie from one of Ayn Rands books can be. I have also viewed The Fountainhead and would somehow like to obtain a copy of that one as well

I loved the cast from the first movie, and found the change to be jarring in the second. The new cast grew on me a bit as I watched, but I'm curious as to the reason(s) for the change. My guess would be that they couldn't find actors willing to commit to 3 films of which have subject matter so against the grain of establishment-hollywood. I'm sure they would be concerned with being blackballed.

I too was not happy with cast change. The story remains good and hit the points, but the quality of the acting seemed of lesser quality. Will they change the cast for the third part?

Yep, the change in cast was a bit disconcerting at first but workable. Used the movies to catch my husband up since he never read AS and didn't like the reader in the audio version I have. Didn't realize part two didn't go to the end tho, so now he is anxiously awaiting part iii.
