    I've always been a tad skeptical on this stuff. I'm with the two who've commented already on this. I don't think we can shift the direction of a storm. We can seed clouds. But, I could be all wrong on that. I've always had a love of weather ever since I started flying as a kid. Where my house sits here in northern NV I'm sitting in my backyard right now typing this and I can see thunderstorms up to 100 miles away. It's beautiful. If I wasn't so ugly I'd love to be a meteorologist.

    If I admitted belief this, I'd also have to admit belief in man caused climate change and I'm not ready to do that, yet.

      If the mag poles weren't moving, if the magnetic field were not weakening and the weather/ocean currents and Aurora weren't doing really odd things, I might believe the worlds kakistocracies were responsible . . . but they probably are not. The weather and the sun's influence is cyclical . . . something the delete will not accept.
      However, they are responsible for the misinformation they eject into the natural cycle equation.

      Good discussion going on here, Freedom, thanks for posting. At least here we can do so.

        Post Script: HAARP is what Ben/I and most of this discussion are taking about.

        SBX-1 and EISCAT systems are a different story altogether.
        Don't know enough about them.

          It's my opinion, having worked with radio for most of my life, that the involvement of HAARP is a conspiracy theory.

          It ranks right up there with power lines and cell phones and their purported effect on humans (and gas pumps).

          HAARP has been blamed for everything from weather to mind control and spying on the former Soviet Union.

          But everyone is allowed an opinion...

            From what I remember about HAARP is that all the rhetoric was what they intended but the system failed to operate like they wanted. Dummies actually perpetuated the rhetoric anyway.
            As I stated above, don't know enough about the new systems and wouldn't doubt that if it's possible, the creatures in the worlds kakistocracies would kill everyone off and take what ever they had.

    I hate to be the one busting the bubble but when I was in the US Air Force, I participated in a "weather war" study. The purpose was to see how we might affect local weather conditions to aid in amphibious assault, or provide natural cover for other military actions. We analyzed chemical elements that had showed an effect on cloud cover and precipitation, and how changing the local conditions might affect winds. The conclusion was that even the application of hundreds of thousands of tons of the most effective elements would produce only a limited, brief effect on the "microclimate."

    HAARP is a system for ionosphere analysis, to investigate natural and man made effects on communications and over the horizon radar. The ionosphere is far above the troposphere, where the weather actually occurs. It's located in northern Alaska, so I don't think it could have any effect on hurricanes in the southern US.

    Me dino used to have a book thick with historical quotes that burned up in a mobile home I rented while going to college paid for by the GI Bill during the Seventies.
    The first thing written~~more likely chiseled into something hard~~was not to ever trust anybody.
    BTW, a fireman showed me that what started the fire was an electrical malfunction directly under my bed while I was sitting in a classroom.
    Why did I trust him? (Tee-hee!) There was evidence of intense heat hotter than the fire that gutted the trailer.

    I have mixed thoughts on this, but in these times when evil seems to be running amok why couldn't there be a plethora of greedy and power hungry "cartels" willing to wreak havoc to benefit themselves? If the technology exists to steer a storm I'm sure some would be willing turn it loose on people for whatever the reason.

    Using small amounts of energy to "steer" large amounts of energy is quite common in physics and technology. Some examples: 1) Picture yourself driving a car on the expressway at 70 or 80 miles an hour (a large amount of energy on the move). A very slight move of the wheel by you can have profound or disastrous results. 2) A transistor can control a large amount of electrical energy by simply applying a minuscule amount of energy at its gate. 3) Place a level surface on a fulcrum and spin (energize) a top at the balance point and observe the top spin in place. Now tip the surface a tiny amount and see the top accelerate towards the downward slope. Even if you right the surface the inertia in the direction of the top's travel will continue for a time. The storm is the top or the car or voltage across a transistor, the seeding is the angle of the tip or you at the wheel or energy at the transistor's gate.

    My only question is if seeding really works, why isn't it used far more often to avert rather than cause disaster?

        If the technique is real, then it could still be used to redirect the hurricane headed for Tampa as I write this and still be kept secret - or not kept secret as the author of the linked video seems to claim such knowledge. Interesting topic, but IMHO has a long way to go for me to be convinced. Put me in the "possible" but not likely camp. I say possible as my examples above demonstrate small amounts of energy being used to steer larger amounts of energy. I say not likely as I don't think the tech has been made possible even though some experiments have been tried. It's possible for a volcano to erupt under where I'm sitting, but very not likely in my lifetime. Fascinating topic though, FFA, thanks for posting.

    PS, something we haven't considered: Think maybe that the Sun does it's thing to Storms on earth and Governments do their thing to "TRY" to make it worse?
    Everything the climate warming creatures want to do to the skies and perhaps have, all add up to making the supposed situation WORSE, not better.

        I am skeptical about letting them use the toilet . . . usually needs LOTS OF PLUNGING afterwards!!!

    Do I believe that the Government would do something like this, in order to steal major resources? ABSOULTELY! Do I believe that we can control the weather at this time? No.
