Legal Assisted Suicide for NYC

I admit to being surprised at the outcome of the New York City Dem primary, partly because of who won, but more so because he got almost half the votes cast. I never thought I'd be pulling for either Adams or Cuomo, but if one of them runs as an independent and the other backs him, there's a chance that Mamdani could be defeated in the main election and New York City could be saved.

But then again, what if Mamdani wins? Biden was installed in the White House for four years, and the country got a real taste for what society would look like under their rule. They were unable to hide their true intentions (or didn't care if we all saw them, since they were in power, that ultimate aphrodisiac).

Excerpt from the Townhall.com article:

"The city is dying, and we should let it. Progressives are all in favor of assisted suicide, we should join them in the case of New York and help the city kill itself. Only a complete embrace of socialist/fascist/communist policies (and there isn’t a dime’s worth of difference between the three) will ween those people off their addiction to seeking government to solve their problems/improve their lives. Let it die, and let them choke on whatever damage and harm to people it does along the way.

NYC has been on the skids for decades.
They (Wall St banksters) have been stealing from everyone else for over a century.
The only thing earned is a protracted, painful death.
Karma is a b---h. Enjoy it NYC.
(With apologies to the honest people who have tried to survive
while unaware of the source of much of NYC's revenues.)

The difference between [socialism and fascism] is superficial and purely formal, but it is significant psychologically: it brings the authoritarian nature of a planned economy crudely into the open. The main characteristic of socialism (and of communism) is public ownership of the means of production, and, therefore, the abolition of private property. The right to property is the right of use and disposal. Under fascism, men retain the semblance or pretense of private property, but the government holds total power over its use and disposal.

There is no difference between communism and socialism, except in the means of achieving the same ultimate end: communism proposes to enslave men by force, socialism - by vote. It is merely the difference between murder and suicide.

"He stepped to the window and pointed to the skyscrapers of the city. He said that we had to extinguish the lights of the world, and when we would see the lights of New York go out, we would know that our job was done."

Yes. Seriously. They can deny reality for a time and even appear to get away with it, but reality always wins eventually. Can be painful, too.

when I read that article, it sure seems like a true-to-life representation of one of the themes of Atlas Shrugged, that a society that eats itself cannot survive, and that the only way to save it is to let it die.

Well stated article! The voting bloc of NYC is such that it rules all NYS and it will suck the state to death before it succumbs to its idiocy. The state will find ways to suck the fed lengthening the day of collapse. It's a mess, but as the article points out, the only way to save NY is to let it die and start over.

The Statue of Liberty should be modified to have tears on her cheeks and a clothespin on her nose.

Ayn Rand and Frank Sinatra both had a love for NYC. I wonder what they would say today. (Well, maybe Rand would say, "I warned you!")
