When my wife and I travel, Cracker Barrell was by far the most frequently-visited eating place on the road. Not anymore. We've got trips coming up in September and October, and we will be looking for other places. I know the loss of a few bucks because we skip them won't affect the bottom line, but I'm content watching another woke implosion from the outside.

If those things hatched from next to nothing thin shells for eggs, the survivors would be chirping, "Cheap! Cheap! Cheap!"

A post-state-corrections career semi-retired job had me working for Wackenhut at a Mercedes plant in Vance, Alabama, near Tuscaloosa a while before mercenary dino learned I could make more an hour working security elsewhere. .
I liked to buy home-cooked kinda takeout meals from a local redneck eatery.
I was handed plastic eating utensils whenever I said "yes" to "Do you need any silverware?"

I've actually thought that of all or most of the CEOs for a long time now.
Now they're coming out of the woodwork . . .

Pretty convinced you'll see them Friday, then file them right next to all the versions of Van Gogh's stuff. (almost enough new versions to do Gogh again)

This isn't a woke issue or limited to Cracker Barrel.
Any women CEO's (outside the utterly irrational "fashion" arena) who haven't run
their companies into the ground (while stealing millions from the shareholders)?

I haven't eaten at CB for a while because of the high salt and calorie content of the menu, but used to meet family and friends there a lot even though the local one was a distance from home. I'm now relegating it to the same trash can as Subway for throwing white guys (I am one!) under the bus. Plenty of other places to eat. I see Steak & Shake has come to town, too! The CEO is apparently a woke ignorant twit that couldn't come up with anything better to improve the brand than to trash a great "ol' timey" heritage. Yeah, I watched part of her interview and she seemed like a product of left wing academia struggling to be relevant. For those that don't know, crackers were shipped in barrels long ago and were common in general stores.

I looked up where the guy on the logo came from and here's what I found: The guy on the logo was called Uncle Herschel...

"Fans have speculated that Uncle Herschel is Herschel McCartney, the uncle of Cracker Barrel founder Dan Evins. McCartney was a goodwill ambassador for the company in its early days when it was founded in Tennessee in 1969, according to Cracker Barrel Insider.

But, according to the company, that’s not true.

The man is just a generic figure created by Nashville designer Bill Holley, who wrote it on a napkin in 1977. His aim was to “create a feeling of nostalgia with an old-timer wearing overalls,” according to Cracker Barrel."

Inspired by OUC's meme, me dino recalled some vaguely recalled old British film in which an actor said something akin to "Blimey! Oih's goin' bloody crackers!"
All I could find was a really bad crappy song with cartoon characters in it. I apologize for now proving that~~https://www.bing.com/videos/riverview...
Then a scene from Marx Brothers' Animal Crackers reminded me of way back when silverware was really made out of silver.

I saw the CEO being interviewed and she said that everybody was very supportive and in favor of all the changes being made. I guess she hasn't spoken to any of the stockholders or gone online and seen some of the memes.
