Ok, I'll admit I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed, but can someone PLEASE explain to me how Tom Brokaw's statement makes ANY sense.

Brokaw has completely lost his mind. He does little national radio blurbs when I'm driving in to work early in the morning and each one sounds like it's coming from Pol Pot.

Barf! Meeting in the middle is just like a little bit of poison. ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION (Brokaw!), and minimum wage should not be negotiated. Up is down.

The basic philosophy is: what's mine is mine, what's yours is negotiable.

Almost as funny when Tom gets sucked up-to by Bob Costas during the Olympics, while Bob appears to have been smoking something. There's one who should stick to his day job, but I can hardly stand him on sports.

It only makes sense in an elitist, progressive, delusional sort of way. Compromise is a one way street for them.
Your confusion stems from the fact that you are undoubtedly much sharper than Mr. Brokaw...

He's a liberal/progressive and a member of the ruling elite. As a pseudo newsman his job is to paint those not agreeing with his ideology as the bad guys. Truth be damned.

It makes no logical sense other than to serve as an example of how the ruling class think... There is never a loser (unless you are a Republican), and we must always meet in the middle (unless Democrats are in charge). Any further questions? ;-)
