You mean it'd be okay for someone with a food allergy to be allowed to die in his cell if he was accused of DUI? Or of burglary? Or of grand theft auto?
There is no war on drugs; if there was, their use wouldn't be so rampant. The government at all levels enforces drug laws about as well as they enforce immigration laws.
You want a war on drugs, pattern it after the war on tobacco. THAT little brainwashing campaign has been most effective.
