What the HELL does this have to do with the "drug war"?

You mean it'd be okay for someone with a food allergy to be allowed to die in his cell if he was accused of DUI? Or of burglary? Or of grand theft auto?

There is no war on drugs; if there was, their use wouldn't be so rampant. The government at all levels enforces drug laws about as well as they enforce immigration laws.

You want a war on drugs, pattern it after the war on tobacco. THAT little brainwashing campaign has been most effective.

It’s partly the officers fault for failing to attend to a medical emergency, especially if he told them about his milk allergy, but I suspect this guy wasn’t being treated properly in the first place. It’s rare to have an anaphylaxis reaction to a milk allergy. Even so, milk allergies aren’t treated with inhalers; they are treated with an epinephrine shot. The inhaler itself could have made the situation worse. He probably got himself an asthma diagnosis at one point from his smoking and consequential lung-damage. The inhaler won’t do a thing for his milk allergy.
