This shows some promise, but I have many hard to describe fears about it, mostly about the kinds of institutions that will want to have something to do with it.

    if you have "hard to describe fears," put reason to it. like, the govt will control the industry through taxation and regulation and pseudo science nay-Sayers

    the internet to the home, mobile apps, medical research, as a start due to onerous regulations, failure to protect property rights

    It is about time someone took advantage of this resource. It is abundant and relatively clean. I am sure some environmental wacko group will try to interfere because disturbing the ocean bed may scare some sea slugs...

    Don't forget education. Though, over a dozen other countries outclass ours as well. Perhaps something should be done about K-12, the biggest monopoly in the country.

    That's Great for japan ,but now instead of the innovation coming from the USA. We have fallen behind japan in the research for "new energy". I wonder where else we have fallen behind in?
