    Part 3 was missing so much. They tried to make it a love story. It was not a love story. The book was 100 times better. They did not show any of the govt killing people with Project F. In the book, half the country was wiped out, and that was what, in the book, took out the bridge. The movie gave no reason for the bridge collapse.

    Very disappointed, need to do the movie over. This is one case where there should have been another 30 mins of movie.

    Also, the actors and directing, scenery, pretty much everything, was worse than the first two movies.

    What a let down.

      They only had 90 minutes to do the last part of the book. Yes they probably should have made it a two hour movie, but it costs money and they didn't have much of a budget, most likely. I thought it made a nice love story. Nothing wrong with love as the world ends.

        They could have CGI'd the Project F scenes where, in the book, they destroyed most of the country. That was a huge scene in the book and took several chapters, if I remember right. The fight scene and take over of the Project F that led to the destruction of the bridge, they completely deleted that from the movie. Also, the ending of the book, they were in the gulch, not heading to the gulch. It would have made a better ending to see them in the Gulch, as the book had them. Still very disappointed. Parts 1 and 2 were great, part 3, I am not happy about how much was left out.

    I have a plan for just such a place in Nevada. Gotta work out a few kinks with the local government.

      I am in NE Nevada. Local governments can be easier said than done to deal with. Primarily because of the overbearing federal presence.

        It's Esmeralda county, they are pretty open to new ideas considering how small their economy is. But I agree, always easier said than done when governments are involved.

          Cool! I like that country down there. Dry as all hell, though. But I believe Esmeralda County Nevada is the least populated County in the nation. 2012 census: 763 people. At 3,589 sq miles and after rounding, the population density is 0 people/sq mi!

    Not surprisingly, the movie doesn't hold a candle to the book (as noted elsewhere). What really frosted me was the insertion of religious lunatics like Glenn Beck and Sean Hannity as protagonists. These sanctimonious dummies turn my stomach, and I'm sure if Ms. Rand knew they were portrayed positively in the movie, she'd be furious. At least The Fountainhead, made while she was still very much alive, was more or less true to the book, but this? Ayn Rand was a dyed in the wool atheist, and she made powerful arguments for her positions opposing organized religion. What the Atlas Shrugged Part 3 movie DID capture well was the sleaziness and cynicism of Mr. Thompson, Floyd Ferris, Jim Taggart, et al,, not that hard to do as they are so vividly portrayed in the novel.

    Everyone keeps asking what we like about the John Galt actor.

    I liked his hair, especially, and his large body that was protective, but not like a muscle man who lifts weights.

    I also liked his intelligent innocence. He had never really done anything bad, but he knew about everything.

    He just makes you want to grab him and drag him away; but if you wait, he will do it to you, and oh how romantic.

    I love the Atlas Shrugged soundtrack. All the songs from part one to part three. From the trains running across Colorado, to the love that surprises you, in the twilight; I am buying them.

    I am on Itunes now buying each song, for .99, because that is the only sound track I can find for sale..

      Ah! OK, AS III. I just watched it for the first time last night. I have to agree with most observations that previous actors were better chosen. And I have seen a comment that Project X is not even mentioned and hence the destruction of the Taggart bridge is a bit puzzling.

      I found the actor playing John Galt the most disappointing. Ever since I first read AS several times over back in the 60's I had concocted images of the characters more in line with the times and more along how Howard Roark and Dominique Francon were portrayed in the Fountainhead. OK, so bring it into the present and all that and we still have John Galt with shirt tail hanging out, the obligatory 5 day stubble look so in vogue these days and rather flat, passionless acting. I somehow would expect more from such an influential personality.

      However, the real value in the movie is in the words. It is absolutely great to hear some of the most unequivocal commentary being spoken to significant audiences.

          Glad you liked him. I may be trying to overcome my 5 decade indelible imprinted original imagination of him. I definitely intend to watch again, probably as marathon of all three movies and sometimes second time impressions can improve. I'd be curious about what you liked about him. Shirt tails, beards - I should talk. But I did expect, and still do, something more of an impressive demeanor for the character.

          Yes, I liked the John Galt actor also, since it was the first time we ever saw John Galt. But I did like the other actors from the first two movies better.
