    I found it pleasant and would like to thank you for sharing this with us! I find no need to be sarcastic or humorous in my comment! It's it has in my opinion an air of truth to it ,at least for me! There is no greater common core value than truth!

    Somebody once told me that the purpose of life is an attempt by matter to understand itself. I was never quite able to convince myself of that as true.
    My purpose in life was to create children who are better people than I am. I lucked out with two sons who amply achieved that goal. Mission accomplished. Now, I just bask in that joy.
    Notice how this defines the arrow of time and enables mortals to achieve immortality?

    There was a donut shop right next to my neighborhood movie theater. I was nickel and dime rich from collecting on my paper route. I decided to splurge and bought six glazed. I gobbled them pretty much all at once after waiting a whole fifteen minutes into the double feature three cartoon and previews presentation. About halfway through the first feature I got so sick that I hardly made it to the men's room. I haven't been able to eat a glazed donut since.

    Agree on the sage philosophy. Am still able to be completely distracted by that delightful sugary creation however.

    Thanks. For me, liberty is a necessary condition to make choices, so it cannot be the purpose, only a means. And I think that happiness is the result of the choices we made after deciding the purpose.
    What I don't buy is "there's no meaning at all..... once you accept those facts, you can start enjoying life". Poor. I believe that there is meaning.
    You are right, with your comment above, "tiny accidents" and "allowed to exist" are contradictory. I believe in mysteries, but never accept contradictions.

    As this was posted as philosophy, and I don't want to ruin the feasting on donuts, this will be short.

    About the cartoon, not enough thinking and a poor answer to a good question. Probably my best answer in this moment is "nobody really knows exactly what the purpose of life is, but there must be one for sure, and you should find it for yourself because that will define you and your actions in life".

    Apple fritter...about once per month. Total hardcore sugar rush.

    I like that cartoon. It reminds me of something... The most miserable people I know are those who go to church regularly. I no longer go to church, but grew up going to a Baptist church. A lot of these people are miserable because they allow their spouse to neglect the hell out of them. There is this element of self-sacrafice that is obviously destructive. What a sad waste of one's limited time. The irony of it all...
