Pushing back against Common Core
What parents need to understand is that it is the School Districts who are being pressured to administer these tests, but the tests themselves are not mandatory for the _students_, but for the District. They can still comply with the Federal law their grant money is based on by administering a test no one takes.

But when put in context with all Common Core subject matter the liberal bias becomes evident. My child is in a private school that uses some of the Common Core textbooks. I review each lesson and point out any truth bending that is presented. The theme of the subjects - liberals good, conservatives bad. I have developed a library for my kid to become "armed and dangerous" for later educational years to confront the liberal bias with "the other side of the story." Its the messaging in the tests to which I profoundly object. As for me, I teach my child to "connect the dots" rather than barf back liberal bias. If my child can do this I feel I will have defeated Common Core and will have a spokesperson for future generations.| Mark as read | Best of... | Permalink

- 1Posted by Ben_C 10 years, 12 months agoBecause I live in a very blue environment and at least I have the power of my check book. This school has zero tax funding and must rely on people like me. The good news - Common Core testing will not happen.| Mark as read | Parent | Best of... | Permalink
