    re: Vikings. It's hard to know if the culture is faithful to actual Nordic life in the middle ages, but I think more accurate than not. Like many cultures, those within the clan are superior (regardless of the station, including those who are not originally from the clan but are brought within it), and all others are inferior. There's a lot to be learned by understanding such - in many ways the Japanese are still this way (and something that I dealt with when working with both the Japanese and Mexicans when I lived in Mexico).

    Babylon 5 isn't for everyone. I remember one character who called himself a technomage. It is not magic to him (or me), but it looks like magic to the uninitiated. Vikings, even though it was quite entertaining, is definitely not consistent with Galt's Gulch values. And yet when I watched it, I thought of Ragnar's pirate ways.

    I've purchased the 2nd through 5th seasons on DVD. Haven't started to watch them. I'm taking it on your recommendation that this is worth my time, as the first season really didn't get me interested, though I sat through them all in any case just to be up to speed. I think I remember seeing it once, and the cheesy sets and makeup just didn't do it for me. But then there are few shows that I start in on from the beginning - Vikings was one that I've really enjoyed. Most others I wait until they've been on for awhile then get them on DVD or Netflix and binge watch. Did that with Battlestar Galactica, which ended up being damned good.

    I do not think that the Gallup CEO is worth inviting to Atlantis either. He could no longer tolerate the cognitive dissonance that he was living. Now he will pay.

    The video appears to show he is a squirming little wimp who ultimately takes orders from the wizard behind the curtain. He spoke out of turn once and now he's trying to clean up the mess so he doesn't "accidentally" jump off a tall building.
    He dug himself a deeper hole to be buried in with that 'get home safe' remark ;^)
    OTOH he will need a safe haven, so if he has $50 million for infrastructure, I'd welcome his involvement (without his control.)

    Seriously, I wonder who benefits from his statements. Was the article a mistake or a very well contrived beginning to a plan to finally unmask the current con in favor of a new and improved con?
