Gold in faeces 'worth millions'

I spent a few years in hardrock and open pit mining for metals. I just don't see those old 'hard minded', 'tough as nails' miners wanting to rush to this new 'find'. It kind of paints an entirely new picture of prospectors, doesn't it.

"In a previous study, another team of scientists calculated that the waste from one million Americans could contain as much as $13m (£8.6m) worth of metals."

Yeah, you just have to ask where does all of it come from? Lead, chromium, nickel, iron, copper, etc is pretty obvious, but precious and rare earth minerals is a whole different item. But I used to love Goldschlager a few years ago.

I worked with a couple of guys just a few years ago looking into extracting rare earth minerals from drilling mud used in oil/gas well drilling. There were some really interesting results.

Nah, they say the content/ton beats the minimum metal/ore+overburden profitability measure. And at $13M/1M population. 330M total=a s$*t pile of money. It'll be interesting to here what part of the country has the biggest concentrations.

Years ago I knew two guys who owned a 'honey dipper' company; they used to say the same thing. Well, more or less.
