Record high altruism to Harvard University

Florida Tech just got a little further behind Harvard. I will not begrudge Harvard this windfall. The alum who gave the money thought that he got great value for his education. If Harvard were a state university, however, perhaps I would not be so kind.

I'm not sure that really counts as altruism. If you have a net worth of 11 billion and give 400 million toward a cause that you are interested in, that doesn't exactly count as self sacrifice.

He will certainly not have to cut back on his daily expenses as a consequence.

Emory University was once a real educator ... until the Coca Cola CEO donated hundreds of millions to them. Since then they have become another Harvard socialist politically correct looter mill. When any group or individual grows so powerful as to have little competition the temptation of power grows. No one is immune to it. Some do remain true to ethical standards, but most do not.
Harvard has not. It is a disgrace.
