Hey members of the Gulch, I heard on Fox Business that Greece will have to sell many of their islands. If anyone who works in International Realestate maybe we could all pitch in and by an island to become a micronation.

I think it will happen eventually, but it would be much easier to build a station in an uninhabited region of the earth with a harsh climate or in the sea.

Would a micronation in space be feasible? Maybe a privately owned version of the International Space Station, supporting itself as a space tourism destination or as a hub for asteroid mining?

The Conch Republic is quite nice, although last time I was there it was June, and we could barely move for the crowds.

Hutt River, Australia was documented on 60 Minutes a few decades ago. That is probably the most serious micronation effort, although I do enjoy the Conch Republic.

I love micro-nations. I think more will crop up, with larger populations and more funding.
