Similarly North Carolina provided me the RIGHT to carry concealed meaning ALL other states must recognize that right also.

Respectfully, I suggest checking the law and precedent cases with respect to warning shots - you may end up being arrested and charged, instead of the assailant. The law seems to concider that if you shoot a warning shot, that means that your life is not really in danger, therefore you get arrested. Morality aside (the law is not concerned with morality), you are better off killing the assailant than either warning or wounding one.

I always wonder that people are willing to discuss their arms and habits on the internet. I would think this would be a good topic on which to be silent.

I'm not talking about a half an inch off. When unacostomed shooters pull a heavy trigger, they often tilt the gun and shoot a couple of feet off target. And you only have 5 or 6 shots...

I don't require too much accuracy, as I only plan to use it at close range. However, I'll try to see if I can get my local arms dealer to let me get the feel of the Sig if he has one.

I don't think that inference is valid. Marriage, once done, is not a permission but a status, which can't be taken away and which other states are required to recognize. A weapons permit, though, is permission and can be taken away, just as a driver's license can. I know that state reciprocity of driver's licenses is not universal -- Hawaii will not allow anyone under 18 to drive, even with a valid license from another state.

My state doesn't allow carry yet, but there are pending cases that may change that. If allowed I would carry a fairly large revolver. (I don't know where to get instruction on taking a semi-auto apart. Revolvers are much simpler.)

I would never open-carry, though, it needlessly scares the public and can result in laws and rules changing against us. And I agree with allosaur's take about not wanting to be the first target.

Yes, I carry. I carry a Nato 9mm semi-auto pistol, M1911 style. Open carry is legal in Pennsylvania, and we have "must issue" state law on concealed carry permits, so I have a permit. I prefer to carry concealed.

If one buys the century + old SCOTUS interpretation of the 14th Amendment, then the 2nd Amendment is the concealed or open carry law of the land.

My wife has a similar issue. It is very difficult for her to rack the slide. Out of dozens of guns that we tried, the SIG P238 is by far the easiest to rack. Amazing machining quality; good gun. Only drawback, in my opinion, is the high precision, e.g., low tolerance of anything being out of spec, including ammo. I think that it's a better choice than revolvers, which require heavy trigger pull, often affecting accuracy.

I have a CCW, but don't carry. My hands are small; the double-stack magazines in the common 9 mil's are uncomfortable for me to shoot, so I go with a single-stack 1911 in .45. And yes, I know how to clean it ;)

I have arthritis and neuropathy in my hands, making it difficult to pull a slide back. So I use revolvers. I usually carry a S&W snub nose 38 in a holster that tucks into my waistband. I am going to trade in an old 380 for a 357 Mag. as soon as I determine which one I want. Any suggestions?

I don't carry but keep a 1911 45 with hollow point for home defense. It makes bodies go backward whether they want to or not. I don't use it if they are going back on their own but if I show will and intent to use with awesome power it causes all but the drugged to change their plans.

Reciprocity is not really relevant any more. the Gays and their new Supreme Court Decision on Marriage pretty set the precedent and made all licenses reciprocal in all 50 states.

I have numerous guns and ammo. Primarily, .45, 410, .380, .22 and 12 gauge, .444.

I own two Taurus Judges. There is a very clear method to what I do and why.

Open Carry:
When I open carry, I use my paddle holster with my Blued Taurus Judge.
To avoid the potential of "Going Armed to the Terror of the Public", the Taurus Judge looks like what a cop would carry and even the most fanatical gun control activists have ignored or not even noticed it. Because it "looks" like a cop gun as I have been told. In fact I have asked if I am a cop when open carrying it.
I have the first round set as 410 Birdshot. Great warning round, NO damage if fired in the air, no worry about BB's coming down.
Round 2, is 000 Buck shot.Round 3 is 45 Long Colt, followed by 2 more 000 Buck.

Usually when I am open Carrying my Judge I also have my Ruger LCP on my ankle, or my Taurus PT145 in my "Smart Carry" holster with a spare magazine or both depending on how froggy I feel.

Occasionally I will open carry my tactical Taurus 24/7 OSS if I am going to say a gun show or something where lots of people are open carrying.

All my weapons use hollow point self defense rounds for obvious reasons. "Dead men tell no tales" and very little chance the round will pass through and through damaging someone else.

Each weapons I have stashed around my home is easily available to me, loaded and chambered so I do not have to waste time.

Normally I daily conceal carrying my Ruger LCP, either in my pocket, or on my ankle.

As a side note my wife also carries Ruger LCP in her purse that has a special pocket she can stick her hand in and shoot through the purse.

It shouldn't matter what the members of the forum think of your well thought decisions. Most everyone thinks things through, then they make a decision. About 5 years ago I found myself to be the only unarmed man in Delaware Co. With one or often more shootings on the news each night in my home town of Columbus, I thought about where I need to go for business and made my own choice. Of course one thing leads to another and now we have a gun safe and several iterations of various 9mm and 45ACPs.

Here in South Carolina, the weather dictates what I carry. In the summer, which can be hot and humid, it's a Glock 42 in a pocket holster. In the cooler months a Glock 19 with a IWB holster.
