Why empires fall...the history of these cycles.

Can we stem this tide, the cycles of civilizations. Can we vanquish the progressive scourge, for the sake of all mankind?

    We often forget, the Founders and Framers had no intent of the US becoming an empire. That's been a large part of our mistakes.

    Of course he left out natural electromagnetic events, heavy metal toxicity, and today's prescription drugs to the causes of falling civilizations...

    I think the author's irony is intentional in likening the US to an empire rather than a republic.

    "The balance of power has all but dissolved as Congress ceded its power to the executive"
    The process seems to be continuing, getting worse.
