Often in the Gulch, we talk about all the ways we are involved and how to get involved productively to make people aware of what is happening to our country and around the World. There are several authors in the Gulch, who write fiction to illustrate Objectivist principles in Action. We ask for your support in helping us fight this philosophical war, by going to our respective author pages and "liking" them. Your support will help ensure these novels are seen by more people. Let us know of other endeavors you are involved in so we can offer this simple support in kind. Pendulum of Justice author page link above, and below:

    good idea. done. thanks, K.

I recommend to the authors above, if you're already not doing it, to try printing some business cards to promote your book. one side has your novel's cover art, and on the other side your blurb, name, and how to buy the book is listed. a current client of mine is about to try this. I think they'll work out well. you could also send a stack of these cards to fellow gulchers who would like to assist in your efforts (like the shrug cards).

      Thank you.
Right now, I am handing out small flyers, 3x5. But that is an excellent idea. I will get to work on it. thanks again!

excellent. I'd love to see one when they're finished.

in the small town where my parents live, there is a local author who visited all the local bookstores and asked them to stock his novel. last year I happened to be at one of the stores when he came in to refresh the stock. they had given him a little room at the front of the shop; he was listed as a local author. anyway, I picked up a copy and said, "If I buy it, will you sign it?" he did, of course. super easy sale.

I'm not sure if local stores stocking your novel would be an option for you, but I'm still throwing it out there. I'm starting to consider more marketing and promotion ideas to help my clients sell. if I come up with anything special, I'll pm you.

Yes, minniepuck, we've been looking into that. Unfortunately, the local bookstores in our town had gone away. :( But I am looking into the bookstores surrounding our alma maters and hometowns. I have been very impressed with the success of Ingrid Ricks, "Hippie Boy: A Girl's Story," who's first novel made the New York Times Bestseller List as an indie author. Here are some of her tips-which you likely already know, but is what spurred me to work harder at author's pages.

yeah, that's what I was afraid of. so many shops have gone out of business.

thanks for the link. I hadn't seen this yet. I've heard of some of these sites, but not all of them. there's so much to explore and figure out in this market. it's exciting to jump in and start trying to make waves.
