While we're very happy to have you in the Gulch and appreciate your wanting to fully engage, some things in the Gulch (e.g. voting, links in comments) are a privilege, not a right. To get you up to speed as quickly as possible, we've provided two options for earning these privileges.
negative; kinda brings to mind some guy lurk-
ing at schools, offering candy to a child! Re:
signing in, often times when I want to post,I am asked if I want to sign in, and I always do. Why not?
'lurkers' - sometimes a 'lurker' appears over
and over again, so I assume it's not a case of
"once a lurker always a lurker" eh? Confused!
The Gulch is very similar to a TV show called "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" where everything is made up and the points don't matter.
In a way they are an ego boost but if you need your ego boosted, you may be in the wrong place. The interesting thing about the points is seeing how many people of like mind agree with you. Any more than one would be a top mark in any other blog.
As all the rest of the world is ( literally) disintegrating into chaos, its rejuvenating to come here and find people who still think. :)
Thnx
