Did anyone catch this?

I was reading Robbie50324's post about the retail problem and caught a glimpse of another news blurb about MRAPs being given away, FREE, mostly to law enforcement agencies. Started to post it but didn't, now I can't find it. Did anyone else happen to see it?

Only "free" to governmental police agencies.

"If local police or state government pay shipping costs and justify the need, DLA is happy to put them behind the wheel of a 37,000-pound MaxxPro from Navistar.

Those needs include “active-shooter incidents, SWAT, and drug interdiction,” according to Schirmacher."

I could use a new truck for making deliveries. Can these be retro fitted to haul pallets of soil and mulch? The story I saw said allies and police get first crack at these. Didn't we pay for them?

Hey, I just thought of something. These things would make great farm vehicles. They would make winter farming a whole lot more comfortable and never have to worry about blizzards. You could plow fields after a snowfall to make the soil more porous to absorb the melt and lessen runoff. That may keep the Mississippi from flooding as badly. Nope, can't do that. FEMA couldn't come in and screw things up. DRAT!
