Twilight Zone

I just started recording the old Twilight Zone shows on SyFy. You know what?...That show was WAY better than almost anything on tv today. Sure, the effects were corny (per today's standards) but many of the story lines were pretty deep, though-provoking. I am really enjoying it. Some of the acting was also very, very good. Wow... And, the blessing...When I take the time to sit and watch one, my kids (5 and 10) will sit quietly and take the whole episode in - asking questions about it. You can look at them and see the wheels turning.

This weekend I watched the episode, "Walking Distance", about a man who's professional life is driving him nuts. He ends up walking back to his hometown (left the car at a roadside shop a mile away). He walks in and the town is in a timewarp, back when he was a kid. Really good stuff. I highly recommend you guys set your DVRs to this.

I saw the advertisement for that marathon and set the recorder. Good move on my part. The kids and I love the shows. SO much better than your modern shows, in general...

He was great. I remember that he just died 2 or 3 years ago. My brother and I mourned. We loved Gilligan's Island and watched it all the time. I just learned something trivial, yet meaningful to me. My wife is the spitting image of Jayne Mansfield (so I'm a fan...of both). Jayne was offered the role of Ginger but turned it down. That would have really tormented me in my youth!

Great show. I missed the New Year marathon. This year my brother said they aired them in the order they originally aired. I didn't start recording till that evening. Burgess Meredith was in a couple of classic episodes.
