I know, it's still annoying. like crossing the border and going through extraordinary measures to prove you are a US citizen. that is NOT right. I am a US citizen. I owe you jack shit to prove it. that's me. the problem all goes back to the welfare state. A free person should never have provide papers to prove they're innocent. it is the govts job to prove that they have a right to use force against you. Innocent until proven guilty. but since our Constitution is compromised we focus on this whole other area of bullshit. If the Constitution remained law, who cares who crosses the border? commit a crime, you will pay. Your votes should not change the Constitution. but that's a country ruled by law. we are ruled by men
If we don't have to prove that we are who we say we are when we cast a vote or prove that we are citizens with the right to vote, then how are we to prevent voter fraud?
There was a black poll worker that recently boasted that she voted 6 times in the last Presidential election. She had no qualms, and said that it was her 'duty' to help Obama get re-elected.
can't I just show my passport? seriously, times used to be the drivers license was good. totally compromised. but this thinking eventually leads to people agreeing to chips or retinal scans
Your passport satisfies the Federal requirement, but the Constitution gives the individual states the right to set their own rules for voting...at least until SCOTUS just 'dumped' on Arizona!
Think about it: if all you needed to vote was a passport, then with a fast car, or a handful of plane tickets, you could duplicate that poll worker and vote in six states. Not a formula for a fair election.
well in some states you don't even have to show ID to vote. I do have to say, I'd be annoyed at having to present my birth certificate everytime I renewed voter registration. but I have heard it's so easy to sign up, there's phone apps for it. One stop shopping for looters
Here in Florida, once you are a registered voter there is no renewal process. I vote with presentation of my driver's license.
But...the last time my driver's license needed renewal I did have to provide a birth certificate, and was told that my license was now coded so I didn't need to do that ever again. This could be a backdoor way for Florida to cull their voting register, and although it was inconvenient (I had to contact NYC for mine) I am OK with it.
I can understand the process, since I live only 15 minutes south of the Georgia line. It could be too easy otherwise to get registered in two states, both with a driver's license and voting card.
This is wrong on so many levels that I wouldn't know where to start!
First: If we have them standing in line for their photo, then why don't we have them standing in line to board the return bus trip?
Second: the article admitted that they live in a "cash only" world, so that also means that they are not paying any taxes. But the card gives them access to government services that they are not contributing to....
Your vote, for all practical purposes, didn't count.

Third: oh, well...you get my drift.
I have my own story about voter registration scamming, which opened my eyes wide open.
