My husband and I finally took the time (4 hour including the deleted scenes dvd) to sit and watch this movie. We highly recommend it. :)
I only have one question. What should have been the final scene (the snow/wedding dress walk...I don't want to give too much away for those who haven't read the book or seen the movie)...but why oh why was it deleted??? It was in the deleted scenes, but NOT in the movie itself...it was only a minute or so long and it was the ENDING. Very confused by this.
Still a great experience to watch. :)

It is long. Too long. However watching We the Living and The Fountain Head gives you a feel how. Ayn Rand arrived at Atlas Shrugged.

I'm going to take a guess here, since I haven't got my DVD yet.

The official DVD (sold here) runs almost 3 hours long for the actual movie. What I have read about the making of this film is that the director actually printed enough film to make a sequel to the original story, that (I think I recall) would cover some of the daughter's life. Maybe all of this archived film stock was re-cut into what you watched? I do remember that the actors figured out that they were working hard enough for two films worth, and stopped work and demanded to be paid double.

I have seen bits and pieces of this movie, and it looks like a winner!

I coulda SWORE you talked a blue streak about We the Living being so good.... It's in Italian but it has subtitles....? Why haven't you seen it. I'm a little disappointed kh!
