Please note that the piece is from Washington Post.

That tells me that I should have zero expectations of objectivity and truthfulness. In fact all I expect from them is propaganda for the dems and negative advertising against the republicans.
It is true that republicans need to articulate a good alternative to Oh-bum-haCare.

'Sounds like CYA to me, because everything about Rowling's world implies an alignment of her forces of evil with real-world collectivism and her forces of good with real-world individualism. The simplest demonstration of it is her fifth of the series, "Order of the Phoenix" and the rise of Voldemort's lackey, Dolores Umbridge-Clinton. Errm, Dolores Umbridge. (Sorry, that just slipped out.)

It's a veritable primer on how bureaucratic power-lusters systematically crush liberties and attempt to force people into obedient serfdom. If the Dolores Umbridge character isn't the perfect embodiment of Democrat Party ideology, I don't know what is. And Umbridge was a front-line operative of the statist Ministry of Magic, which at that point in Rowling's story was under the control of Voldebama... umm, mort.

A better tag would be "Republican For ?" since, for the most part, as a political party, I'm not sure whatinell they're for -- or against anymore.

"Logic demands that we accept Voldemort as a Democrat"
    ---
The only thing logic demands is that we accept Voldemort as a wizard and a fictional character.

It would be quite logical to assume that Voldemort would be a democrat if he were a real person in existence. I mean he is for a strong central authority that can give him whatever it is he wants, that sounds like a democrat to me.

I mean the republicans would follow him too, just through a quit non-oposition. Wait a minute, this is starting to sound like Obama I am talking about. Oh, I got it. Obama is Voldermort manifested in the real world. :)

All kidding around aside, I think this article was a bit of fun. Thanks for sharing it.
