While we're very happy to have you in the Gulch and appreciate your wanting to fully engage, some things in the Gulch (e.g. voting, links in comments) are a privilege, not a right. To get you up to speed as quickly as possible, we've provided two options for earning these privileges.
It must be reliable - that is, it must come and go at predicable times.
It should be inexpensive. What "inexpensive" is depends on your opinion and resources.
It should meet your space needs: cargo carry capacity, variable number of people, bike racks, etc.
It should not be publicly funded, although you may choose to be transported with more people and thus split the cost into smaller shares.
It should be comfortable - however you define that. I like heated leather Recaro seats.
It should not require a costly and inconvenient change to the surroundings in which it will operate, such as light rail does.
Most importantly to me [you may have a different rating system], it should go where and when you need or want to go.
That's my little list of the perfect public transportation system.
It's called the "automobile".
