His choice of title for his own opus is interesting. Methinks it is a Freudian reference to his own predilections, with him on the receiving end. Here, let me mix some habanero oil in the Vaseline.

There is _nothing_ wrong with asking for investment, a handout, a loan, sex, a discount, advice, etc. You can _ask_ for whatever you want.

The problem comes when you take without asking.

  There is also nothing wrong with pointing out the scam of announcing that the film was "fully funded," yet requesting "voluntary donations" anyway. It's obvious that the producers expect Part 3 to be a box-office clunker — like Parts I and 2 — and want to make some money up-front by offering trivialities in exchange for donations.
