Global Warming- its real! Artists say so.

Heading to Colorado Springs CO fairly soon. We decided to pause the drive in Sante Fe on the 1st and leave on the 2nd. I figured I'd look at the chamber of commerce calendar to see if there were anything interesting going on that we could explore.I found the authority of the statement quite rich considering "artists" are examining the impact of global warming for the simple folk. Tempeted to drive another 3 hours...wife would rather stop a bit.

    Sedona is trying to become another Santa Fe with the same artists of Neo -Luddite persuasion. They believe in global warming as the Santa Feans. So, maybe they'll be the "first ones up against the wall when the revolution comes" along with the Ancient Alien Cult.

    In many things based in science there are huge swaths of the general public with very strong opinions - with zero knowledge of what they are talking about. I find it interesting, funny, and frightening.

    Palin hung herself...poisoned her own support from people like me (a conservative).

    Dino, its too high brow for me too. If it were just an art exhibit featuring the wax creations I could have taken interest but adding the "cause" soured it entirely; I wouldn't go if it were free and in my hotel lobby.

    You've got me looking through my old super 8 movies and there is a 40 mile trip that starts in Colorado Springs called The Gold Camp Road. Unless they've done some major upgrades, it's not for the faint of heart. But, there are some beautiful vistas. It was over 40 years ago, but I'm sure you don't need me to do your research. However, I do rememberthat it took 4 hours to go 40 miles, including an encounter with a road grader that was coming toward us which I swore was going to be the end of me, my wife, my two boys and our rented Dodge Polaris.Somehow it passed us. I don't know how. But I suggest you take the paved road back to Colorado Springs.It is 3 times lionger but about the same elapsed time, and much less sweat. Of course all my comments may be 40 years behind the times and I'm sure that you'll get the latest info. without my obsolete advice. But, I can't resist, because that trip, plus Yellowstone/Yosemite, plus a raft trip down the Colorado river were the 3 most memorable vacations our little family had.

    good. at the General Palmer castle she can do a high tea. I am sure that is on you list AJ, but was surprisingly fun. The Airforce Academy is very fun to tour, and the Broadmoor is so lovely. treat her to a spa something there. also, you can meet Dale's sister-she'll join you for dinner. you'll love her-you'll both love her you and she are peas in a pod!

    Always good to hear from you. Yes, the past weeks its been above 105 and between 110-120. While the heat is expected its never welcome, at least by me. Getting a respite from the oven is what we have in mind.

    My saying "It doesn't matter whether you bake or broil you still cook." Arizona= broil.

    I haven't been to Colorado Springs for many years, but as I recall the "Garden of the Gods", a series of astonishing rock formations was a highlight I still recall.. In any case, whether or not you are a camper, if you're a scenery buff, there's few places more wondrous than Wyoming, Colorado, and Arizona.

    expert on painted art. Mainly, my favorite paintings
    are those done by Norman Rockwell.

    The global warming is caused by the axis of the planet changing. I am living within 100 yards of where I grew up. The Big Dipper is 10 to 45 degrees closer to the horizon than it is suppose to be.

    I agree, Jim. Live in Corrales, which is also like a mini-Santa Fe. I've had jerks screaming at me for not believing in AGW. However, unlike them I've actually studied the sciences behind climate change and, this is shocking, made up my own mind!

    I know it is very hot where you live. Isn't it always hot there though? :) When I was young we used to get several days every summer that topped 100 F. here, but I haven't seen any in years...
    Skepticism doesn't garner grant money or attention though...

    Good to find some time to converse again. I have been overwhelmed lately. Work and other projects...
