51 million is not a small number.

The shocking number for me from that Rasmussen report is that 59% think that States don't have the right to leave the Union.

That means 59% are ignorant of the Declaration of Independence. 59% don't realize that the States are sovereign republics, not provinces.

The important percentages are the large percentages who are undecided on the issue.

No wonder DHS is stockpiling ammo. If secession is attempted, they no doubt plan to follow in Mr Lincoln's footsteps.

Before reading this, I just made a post entitled "Secession" about the possibilities and problems of secession.

I don't understand the label of JUST on this headline. When 11% of the population wants to leave the union, that is an absolutely HUGE number, in my opinion. That is well beyond "nutball" territory into mainstream worldview. What if the article was "Just 11% of people don't think pressing the brake pedal will stop their vehicle?" Clumsy example, but my point is everyone should think their break pedal will work, and you'd be surprised to hear a number this high don't. Everyone should think their country is healthy enough to stay a citizen of. When you've got over 10% of the population wanting to dissolve the Union, that is a shocking percentage and a sign that the Union's days are numbered.

Exactly what I was just about to say.

It looks like pretty small figure when you say 11%.

It's a lot more disconcerting when you say 33,000,000.

This is an old article but I wanted to share a thought. 11% of Americans would be roughly 33,000,000 people. That's just over the population of Texas. If everyone of those 11% could/would move to Texas then we would have an overwhelming majority that would support secession from the US. Any thoughts?
