This brief quiz is given to introductory logic students on the first day of class by Prof. Harry Gensler. Most students fail it.

Click on the answer you think is correct. Correct answers will then be highlighted in green, incorrect answers in purple
Your score will show at the bottom of the test.

My first time through I got 8 out of 10 correct. When I decided to post it here, I went through it more carefully and got 10 out of 10 correct.

1. first timers get 8 out of 10 correct
2 second timers get all correct
3 those that post the test will go through the test a second time
4 none of these validly follows

Me too but it was a statement in the premise. I guess we are to accept that premise to get the correct logical answer.

I have a problem with number 8. How can something be known, without proof?
Granted, I can't prove everything that I claim to know, but many things I do know were proven by someone, at some point.

Logic backwards is cigol (var) which is a sort of Jewish sweet noodle pudding with raisins and just about anything else that tastes sweet which can be put into it. No, I don't have the recipe, but if you are a proponent of logic and a good cook I offer this up free of charge. On Thanksgiving, my Mom had two heavenly specialties. The aforementioned dish which can be spelled at least 5 different ways, and apple fritters.I think that persons who have a special dish should teach another family member how to cook it so their memory lives on in deliciousness.

And, by the way, if they aren't a particularly good cook, let them choose a dish that they consider their best recipe and beg them to teach it to you. I assure you, you will add great happiness to their passing.

I got 8 out of 10, then with my dyslexia it is always work to make certain I understand what is being asked. Often times when I was tested in school when going over the tests in class later I would realize that I knew the answer, I didn't understand the query.

    Thanks Carl,
I really like tests that I score well on. I really like tests like this or I really don't , it depends on how well I score . With multiple choice you can tip the odds in your favor by eliminating some of the choices.
    I scored 9 out of 10.
    A. I like tests with multiple choices.
B.My score was high and I don't like this test.
C Eliminating some of the choices means I like this test.
    D.none of the above
