This was an Amtrak train on its inaugural speed run. If they had hired Dagny .... OK, we know that Dagny wouldn't have stooped down to working for Amtrak.

It reminds you of that? You were purposefully investigating a mechanical phenomenon, looking for the critical speed that caused the derailment. Their mindless 80 mph had no sense of purpose or concept of 'too fast', 'human life', or 'consequences' at all. You give them too much credit.

Driving a train at 80 mph in a 30 mph zone! This reminds me of when I had my own model train set and tried to see at just what speed the train would jump the rails.

    Hello jbrenner,

You are right; she is not working for the government outfit for sure! :)
Amtrak is a joke, and not a funny one. Typical of most any government run entity...

    Happy Holidays,
    OA.

Do they deliver to the outer world? The FDA won't approve eating cheese that passes through the ray screen. Maybe Ragnar could do it.

That's an old photo. As you read this Dagny is sunning herself next to her office in the Valley.

The comment about Kip Chalmers is interesting, but this line has already been nationalized. How else do you explain Amtrak's ability to continue running routes with a mere 77 passengers?

The Rearden Metal rails were definitely not installed on that line.

This story really reminds me of AS. This and the Atlanta airport shutdown.
