While we're very happy to have you in the Gulch and appreciate your wanting to fully engage, some things in the Gulch (e.g. voting, links in comments) are a
privilege, not a right. To get you up to speed as quickly as possible, we've provided two options for earning these privileges.
- You must reach a Gulch score of 100. You can earn points in the Gulch by posting content, commenting, or by other members voting up your posts.
- You may upgrade to a Galt's Gulch Producer membership to immediately gain these privileges.
Your current Gulch score:
Holding entire markets hostage over a malicious deed initiated by a few crony-statists in China or any other country (including ours) is only beating them to their goal of economic destruction, which in the end looks like Venezuela.
So we've no reason to trust the Chinese government who only allow a degree of lucrative freedom to exists for the ultimate purpose of subverting whatever technologies are produced to their goal of economic czars able to dictate how people will live, what they will produce, how much and in what quantity and who will get to consume it.
All any dictator wants is the right to consume the lives of others by whim. Retaliatory tariffs are but one mechanism. If people are frightened by a foreign tyrant then they will rush into the arms of a domestic one.
The rational alternative is to get our own government out of our economy, not to control it, not to "protect" it. Otherwise, our leaders have no "argument" but to beat them to the punch for our own "protection."
