Right leaning intelectuals Oppose Capitalism
I found this Essay very interesting, thought others may as well.
While we're very happy to have you in the Gulch and appreciate your wanting to fully engage, some things in the Gulch (e.g. voting, links in comments) are a privilege, not a right. To get you up to speed as quickly as possible, we've provided two options for earning these privileges.
"An intellectual is a person who engages in critical thinking, research, and reflection about society and proposes solutions for its normative problems."
There is no need for "wordsmiths" and spinner in a capitalist society. Society takes care of itself, that is why the so called "intellectuals" don't fit in.
It is the left which needs them most. Think of Alinsky who gave them a manual how to destroy society and turn the dem party into a huge gang, where everyone is brainwashed to think and act alike.
Obama hired "intellectuals" for his government. with spectacular results. ACA was formulated by these people who have disappeared since.
The term of "intellectual" has been abused and lost its original meaning. Given the current status of higher education where critical thinking is all but extinct, it is not going to change for the better in the near future.
I didn't understand if he was saying intellectuals do well in capitalism or do not do well:

Here are my guesses as to why intellectuals might appear to oppose capitalism:
