From the article~
WCPO reports that the family has hired L. Lin Wood, whom disgraced former journalist Dan Rather described as the "attorney for the damned" and who is known for "aggressive libel and slander suits against media organizations."
A newspaper reporter for 7 years during the Seventies, me dino learned in Troy State's journalism school that libel is written defamation and slander is spoken definition. I also learned not to do it. So, duh, I didn't.
And me dino would like to add, "Hey, Fake News! Reach for your wallets! They are about to be picked clean! You stupid pathetic fools! Bwahahaha!"

In the US the "right" has generally meant pro-individualist. There was no such philosophically individualist "right" in Germany. The "right" there referred to the nationalistic, conservative religious who resisted the communist left. The National Socialist Party rose to power as a compromise between the nationalists right and the communist socialist left. See Leonard Peikoff's *The Ominous Parallels" for more.

Ever since the breakup of the Hitler-Stalin pact the left has tried to brand anything not communist as the "right", deliberately pack dealing fascism with capitalism and anything else not communist.

Funny, I always though that the Nazis were about as progressive as it got. And when is a radical group that starts out as a workers political party called “right”?

It did. But the Germans had no individualistic tradition the way America does (what is left of it). The German "right" -- the nationalistic, conservative religious culture -- was a false alternative to the communist/socialist left and could not defend individualism and freedom against it. The result was the nationalist socialism of the Nazis as a compromise.

The failure in this country today to defend against ethnic religion and racism as in the leftist mob mentality supporting this chanting, drum-beating "Elder" against teenagers who didn't know what was happening to them is putting us in the same boat.

I suspect similar things happened during the early rise of the radical National Socialist German workers party. Too many people, to afraid, let it happen.

The chanting ethnic militant beating his drum has been exposed elsewhere for his fantasy account of the incident, and so has the ugly, taunting insults by the irrational and militant "Black Hebrew Israelites" mob. This article doesn't help by trying to wrap itself in martyrdom by calling the ethnic militant an "anti-Catholic", as if that were the essence, and trying to package-deal the event in terms of "the Faith" and Catholic anti-abortion dogma. The teenagers at the school are being indoctrinated with that line and may eventually learn otherwise, most of the rest of us -- especially on an Ayn Rand forum -- already know better.

Yes it's progressive decline, and the decline is progressively accelerating. At least the old sheriff when forced to give in could say he was threatened by violence seizing the prisoner by force and he didn't grant the mob a moral sanction. Now adults are morally pandering to the mob that threatened with nothing but moral intimidation with its mob tribalist mentality posing as morality -- and were on the verge of sacrificing their own students to the demands of the mob.

That kind of moral surrender to the irrational only hastens the rise to power by the rabid, racist left. Today they hysterically smear the innocent, out of their own racism, and increasingly get away with it; imagine what such racist, irrational collectivists will do to people once they have the power to fully implement their ethnic racism, overtly targeting "whites", as they no longer hide and cheer on a trend to make "whites" a minority in the US. That bloody threat should frighten every civilized person.

Meanwhile we see a cowardly bulk 'downvoter' on this forum again personally trashing in silence all my posts. There are some anti-intellectual irrational and emotional militants here who have nothing in common with Ayn Rand and who do not belong on this forum. Ayn Rand was an advocate of reason and individualm who as a consequence denounced the ethnic racists, tribalists, and dogmatic irrationalists.

In the olden days you could ask what kind a sheriff would let the angry mobs take his prisoner from him, to be tarred and feathered and lynched.

And this event reminded me of those days.
    I guess that’s Progress(ive)

We don't expect that. Even considering caving into and pandering to the hysterical ethnicity demagoguery was cowardly and irrational even if all they had seen was the early out of context videos.

What kind of moral coward is so easily "bullied" into that kind of pandering?

In today's context even a proper libel suit victory could be exploited as a "precedent" by the other side politically or legally against any of us they accuse of being "racist" for rejecting what Ayn Rand called the "Global Balkanization" of the ethnicity mongers. The curremt very political public 'narrative' is centered on what the out of context videos did not show instead of on the teenagers' right to their own freedom of speech, let alone a proper rejection of the mentality of the ethnicity mongers.

This is a good time to read or review Ayn Rand's "Global Balkanization" in The Return of the Primitive.

They definitely prejudged those kids. In the apology letter they said they were pressured and bullied into doing it. I guess they believe in mobs of vengeful activists before what is right and just. Or maybe they just didn’t want their school burned down with the kids inside.

They had done nothing wrong even if they had done much of what they were falsely accused of by the ethnicity mongers. The out of context re-interpreted videos employed as alleged evidence show no sign of irrational behavior or false accusations from them, let alone violence or intimidation. Even the false accusations of "racism" are meaningless parroting of what the left calls anyone it doesn't like. So what if you are irrationally called a "racist" by multi-culturalist collectivists who rejects the meaning of the concept in their own racism? Not being "acceptable" to that mentality does not imply you have done anything wrong.

Looks like it was before, and I trust it was.

The fact remains that they jumped the gun similar to the media before all the details were in.

One would expect more maturity from a religious organization.

This whole affair has been disgusting. Also a great example of how people uncloak via social media...calling for all kinds of terrible things to happen to those kids whether or not the kids had done anything wrong. Wasn't it Nietzsche who said, "Stare into the abyss long enough and it stares back into you."? This is why I no longer have some sort of public persona or window into my life like FB. It's disgusting... On the rare occasion when I've been approached to say something to the media it's, "No thanks..."

I would like to see that as well.

Sandmann has a good case since there is evidence by the tape of what really happened.

The Muslim first time rep Ilham Omar also deleted her blog attacking the event. She is under pressure on other "comments" regarding Israel, as well. We really needed someone like her in Congress! (NOT)

Since Madonna offered BJs for voting for Cackles The Evil Hag, maybe that woman is a fan of both.

+1 let the leftist know that there are consequences for their actions.
I saw a tweet from some woman offering a BJ to who ever punch’s him.
That is the kinder and gentler party today.
