Getting Screamed at in California

Some of you may have heard about the Stefan (sp) something-or-other last name case out here where the police shot and killed a young man. Happened about a year ago. Well, I guess our DA decided this weekend to not try to charge the cops. I haven't followed it, really. But, I guess tensions are high. I was getting my coffee in the office yesterday and heard a couple of the ladies talking about it. I casually mentioned that some "protesters" who are angry about it may decide to take out their frustrations on people who have nothing to do with it (think Reginald Denny, the LA riots). Well, this lady started screaming at me, creating a big scene in the office. I didn't say anything about race or anything like that. It was really bizarre. I commented later that it was the first time in my entire career (started working at 11 years old) that anybody ever screamed at me at work. I guess she disagreed with me, thought that nobody would be violent, and was really wound up about it. It was like an odd psychosis. This is the funny part. As she was screaming and the other ladies were trying to get her to shut up I didn't cower. I just stood there and sipped my coffee. When she took a breath I said, "Why are you yelling at me? I didn't do anything." Just got a blank stare. A lot of people in my situation would have cowered and scurried off. But, I've done nothing wrong...making life much simpler, I've found. There is a lot of tension out there, apparently. I was a bit naïve about it - not watching the news, etc. So, on the bright side, I've learned something.

Agreed. Sometimes when you are standing in front of an avalanche the only thing you can try to do is sidestep it where you can.

I suggest you exit the leftprosey colony’s ASAP.
Steve Martin exiting his car in Grand Canyon , comes to mind. Be SAFE.

How about the ACLU? (!!!) I subscribe to NRATV, and just watched a video clip of Wayne LaPierre's speech to the recent CPAC2019 meeting (where Trump gave his 2-hr speech). Mr. LaPierre claimed that Andrew Cuomo, New York governor, had recently taken action to coerce banks to stop doing business with the NRA (reminds me of "Operation Chokepoint", Obama's illegal actions to force credit card companies to stop doing business with lawful firearms dealers - manufacturers and sporting goods stores). He also claimed that Letitia James (brand new New York State Attorney General) had just declared the NRA to be a "criminal organization" - just like MS-13 and the Mafia. LaPierre claimed that the ACLU is taking the NRA's case!

UPDATE! Just this morning, a day and a half after being screamed at because I said that some of the angry protesters would attack people not involved - One of my officemates was driving in this morning when a protester tried blocking traffic on the freeway. This was a big, angry guy who - in a fit of rage - was pounding on cars. It gets better. My friend saw the guy hang on a pickup mirror and fall off, getting his ankle and foot run over by the back tire. A few people stopped to render aid.

California... My friend came in, looked at me with stress showing in his eyes, and said, "I gotta get out of here..."

Well, John, I actually agree with you, but I was using the current jargon to make a point.,,,we MAGA hat wearers are persecuted because of our so-called political views.

Silence under those circumstances also implies you are a pushover, and it encourages further harassment. I think one of the main reasons Donald Trump won the nomination (out of 17 Republicans running) was because conservatives in this country are SICK AND TIRED of voting Republican and nothing changes. It seems when Democrats are in power, Democrats call the shots, but when Republicans are in power, Democrats call the shots (yes, I meant it that way - Republicans (i.e., RINOs) always cave to the Democrats). The perception was that Donald Trump was a FIGHTER and would not cave in to Democrats. We're tired of voting for "nice guys" like Mitt Romney and whether they win or lose, Schumer and his ilk still call the shots. A "counter puncher" is RESPECTED more than a wimp.

I would say that depends on how the event evolves. You do not have to just sit there and accept it when a crime is committed against you. Let's say someone takes your hat. You then chase him/her down and take your property back. Now the screaming starts (always on the part of the Trump-hating libtard). Next, let's say the libtard thief pulls out a knife and threatens you. You then pull out your .45 ACP and tell the thief "Go ahead, make my day!" We'll see who wins then.

I've been thinking about buying one of those MAGA hats. I voted for Trump (obviously - the alternative was unthinkable!), but I've already collected so many hats over the years that I really don't need another one. I do have a couple camo hats with "Winchester " emblazoned on the front (you know, "The Gun that Won the West"). I wonder how Nathan Philips (the "elderly" Indian leftwing "activist" who verbally assaulted the Covington Catholic kids, beating his stupid tom-tom in their faces) would like my Winchester hat, given who we won the West from? Oh well...don't care. I like my hat.

And yet the Nazis and the Japanese were allies. For the Japanese, they got access to advanced German technology, so I guess they overlooked the "Aryan" Nazis. I read once that the Nazis referred to the Japanese as "Honorary Aryans" ... "politics makes strange bedfellows..."

It is kind of a rhetorical question. But...at 72 years of age if some 20 something yanked of my hat and got in my face I could indeed fear for my life.
Not tryin to start an argument, just sayin.....

True, but "taking part in it" is usually compulsory by the evil. Try not paying your taxes or avoiding a draft, and you go to jail (or worse). Example: In Nazi Germany, not turning in your Jewish friends was a crime, as was any adult not greeting another adult with the famous "Heil Hitler" salute. It was compulsory, fail to do it and you were in serious trouble with people wearing black uniforms.

I would be in trouble...the first time a female screamed in my face (my sister), I knocked her to the floor. It was an autonomous reaction from my body (I swear).
The second time a female started screaming at me, a friend noticed me balling up my fists, but I refrained from taking a swing at her, for some reason.
Nowadays, I don't know how I would react, but I wouldn't want to find out, as I've never been in jail and don't want to start at this late stage in my life.

I would say no but I am not a lawyer. You must be in "fear for your life" (key words to repeat if your are ever involved in a situation where lethal force is used) and theft of a hat or purse or whatever does not constitute a threat to life.

Fortunately, I live in "flyover country" where most are conservative, and waiting room conversations are usually friendly. The funny thing is, most of the time, we don't discuss politics. I think that has to do with a general sense of well being.

The problem with remaining silent it is often taken for agreement. As to the screaming, it can only be attributed to some form of psychosis.Speak your truth and then, walk away. I've noticed that ever since I started using a walker or power chair intimidation or coercion has greatly diminished, although I don't recommend this as a a ploy if it is truly needed. When I'm not falling , it seems to alleviate the amount of bruising that shows up on my skin and puts my wife under suspicion of elder abuse. (she's as old as me, but looks 20 years younger).

At 76 years old, I am spending a lot of time in Waiting Rooms, and I always start talking against the Democrats, and their plans for us. I usually end up in the room alone. I have no hope for our future.

Good for you, Abaco! It's about time more of us "adults in the room" stood up and demonstrated how mature adults act. The radical left has many people cowering down, "don't say something to make them mad and it will get better soon". Well how has that worked out? Not well, I'd argue.

The discussion on a TV talk show was about 50% of us suffering mental illness during our life time. That explains that the leftist have a "mental disease." America is lost, unless we bring back the padded rooms.

During the 2nd World War, the Japanese were quick to cut off the heads of the blond, blue eyed devils they captured. We have much to look forward too.

So that daffy woman gave you a blank stare, Abaco, when you asked why she was screaming at you like that?
I'd like to have a photo of that so me dino could superimpose a cartoon thought balloon above her head with the word, "DUH," in it.
