    My dad owned a small restaurant. I know what blood, sweat, and tears goes into building such an enterprise. The long hours, the hard work, only to have people with no concept of what it's like impose their misbegotten ideas on you. To those who know and understand, your sign says more than a book on economics. It is inspirational. Thank you.

      You have seen it first hand...Thank You Herb7734, really. You know what kind of hardships and regulations are added almost daily to the business and you just keep pushing forward thinking something's gotta give here...until you just can't accept the terms any longer. It has been a lifetime of learning experience and now there are new ones to learn :-)

      It was the school tax..increase of $1600.00 per year. May not seem like much, but with all the other stuff added, it made me give up. We voted it down and one month later, bam, another vote. People who didn't have any property got to vote for those who did to pay. That was the straw :-)

        Isn't it amazing how that system works. It gives new meaning to, if at first you don't succeed...repackage it until you get it through. I may be right behind you. Our school system failed at a referendum 2 years ago for a new school and now it is on the agenda again. You know how bricks & mortar teaches kids. And our county has a referendum for a new $15 million nursing home. Of course the referendum question just asks if the county should stay in the nursing home business. Does not say what it will cost the taxpayers. Urg!

          Thanks edweaver.. I know what you are going through. The second vote on the same issue was worded differently but for the same thing, ONE MONTH later... and it passed.. I wish you well also...hang in there until they've taken more than you are willing to give. Only you will know when that is...
