    "Just plug it in" reminds me old dino as a kid looking at some goofy Sunday newspaper comics artist's (in color) diagram of a Buck Rogers spaceship.
    It was propelled by a drawn cylindrical "generator" that looked like in belonged in a dam where water forces it to spin. No fuel source was indicated.
    So there I was around 10-years-old acquiring an unforgettable moment for marveling over how stupid that looked.

    The San Francisco "tip-toing" would be funny had it not been sad and troubling.
