Sen. Rand Paul Declares ‘Never Nikki’ in Anti-Endorsement for 2024

Excerpt:
"“I don’t think any informed or knowledgeable libertarian or conservative should support Nikki Haley. I’ve seen her attitude towards our event [and] our interventions overseas. I’ve seen her involvement in the military-industrial complex, $8 million being paid to become part of a team.”

Mr. Paul also disagreed with Ms. Haley’s ideals on internet usage, saying he stands against making individuals register to use the internet: “I think she fails to understand that our Republic was founded upon people like Ben Franklin, Sam Adams, [James] Madison, John Jay, and others who posted routinely—for fear of the government—they posted routinely anonymously.

“And I think her failure to really understand that or to think that you should register through the government somehow on the internet is something that should disqualify her in the minds of all libertarian and libertarian-leaning conservatives.”

Mr. Paul teased his news the afternoon before with a post on X, formerly Twitter.

Following his video statement, Mr. Paul also pointed to Ms. Haley’s stance on the United Nations, where she served as U.S. ambassador, as problematic in a series of posts on X.
“She repeatedly praised the U.N. Secretary-General [Antonio Guterres, former president of Socialist International] and declared that they ’think alike,'” said Mr. Paul. And she was positive about the “results” the United Nations achieved and “the people who ran it.”

The Kentucky senator encouraged voters to go to nevernikki.net and “show her that you’re ‘never Nikki’ also.”"

I am 78, and frankly I want to die with ZERO dollars left in my account, and I don't even want to make any more money that I have to pay taxes on. I have had enough.

Ramaswamy is a real green horn as far as politics is concerned. The left would tie him up in courts. He needs the experience Trump got when he was president to help him get things done. If Trump is re elected, he doesn't have to worry about re-election now. I hope he wins and trashes the left at every turn

No question. If the people were free to spend their own money you can bet there would be less corruption and fewer Democrats. ;)

the damage of federal government expenditures "trickle down" to the average citizen in that there is less money around that can be spend on worthwhile things.

    The media over-reacts??
Glad your back safe FFA although I bet you are not enjoying the temps. And as always when traveling, as long as you are not doing or dealing drugs, and have some sense about where to be and not be in any town - reasonable safe!

I'm back and not enjoying the temperature. ;^)
But I have some great memories, a nice tan, (and saved about 5k on the dental services compared to in US.)
The 'news' has, as usual, over-reacted to the actions of drug dealers and the Ecuador government.
Like all cities in the US, there are some areas to avoid in Ecuador for safety, but almost the entire country
is quite safe as long as you aren't dealing or transporting drugs or have dealings with those who are.
Year round temps in 75 to 85 is a compelling attraction, along with inexpensive, good quality, al fresco dining.

Tariffs are a mixed bag. They're really protectionist in nature because domestic products won't include the tariff price. As long as the domestic company can keep their costs of production comparable to foreign competition, the tariff is going to price the competition out of the market. Only if the domestic production price exceeds the foreign production price + tariff do foreign goods begin to look good to a consumer. So the notion that a tariff is paid by the consumer is indirect at best. IMHO, however, they are still far better than federal income taxes because there is an inherent market feedback built in to a tariff that isn't present in a straight income tax. I think the Founders understood this because they rejected the notion of a Federal income tax.

As to the size of the Federal Government, it is the biggest problem facing our nation IMHO. Their wasteful spending will sink us even faster than all these illegals. :(

Ego is probably going to prevent that. Too bad. Trump is good, but has bad elements too. Lying about who pays tariffs on Chinese goods is one I can point out. I have cancelled checks that prove its NOT the Chinese that pay the tariffs, its USA people who pay the tariffs directly.

Trump is the lesser of all evils that could possibly be elected president, so I will vote for him. The indian dude would never be elected as president right away. His idea of firing all government workers with odd or even SS numbers is a great idea, but would wind up in the courts immediately

I could see that there might be ego issues and arguments between two strong personalities. They both should project a bit to the future and see how when Trump cant run again in 2028 that Ramaswamy would have a good chance to extend conservativism for 8 more years.

I've been on the road for the past 5 weeks in S. America. Most of the time I've had a limited kitchen and could make coffee and warm some bread, even had a range and gas oven part of the time. But I'm not racing to make business meetings so I have had time to make breakfast when I wanted to. (Restaurant food is much less expensive down here, too. My breakfast today was an omelette, toast, yogurt with fruit, juice, and coffee for $5.50.)
I'm not looking forward to returning to frigid N. America from 80F shorts and sandals weather down here.

Agreed, FFA - we want to believe, as people of good faith in our dealings with others. The media, each of them with their own agenda are as bought and paid for as the politicians. We have to do the vetting ourselves.

I eat at Waffle House all the time - and most of the waitress's seem to make more sense that Nikki does now. I liked her as a UN Ambassador - but she has changed, and I am not sure of her message.

Trump has been saying that he doesn't like him for any job.
The only one I think can be trusted as VP is Rand Paul, but someone good would have to replace him in the senate.

Trump should make him VP to prepare him and the country to elect him as president in 2028 and 2032

Fortunately Nikki Haley has no chance of actually winning the presidential race. I hope that the woman card is played by Trump in appointing a VP. VP pick for Trump should be Ramaswany.

Not unnoticed or forgotten, blarman. When I found that out I figured it was one more reason I wasted my time going to the polls to vote for Romney.

The media are megaphones that the government speaks through. How the hell does the media learn what they learn? Their secret sources.

I have to wonder if Romney didn't do what he did to try to protect his son. Remember it was one of his sons who was in business with Devon Archer and Hunter Biden at one point. A huge mistake to be sure, but parents will often try to shield their children from the consequences of their actions instead of encouraging responsibility. Not saying I condone what he did, only that it would be a plausible explanation.
