ISIL, at the moment, is a LOT closer to the Russian sphere than it is to the U.S., so it's a bit more pressing issue to Mr. Putin than it is to Tsar Barack. And since Mr. Obama has time after time demonstrated an inability or an unwillingness (or both!) to follow through, Mr Putin has decided not to fool around any longer with this clown. As much as I detest Putin, I have to respect the man because he's looking for for the best interests of his countrymen and his country.
