I spent a year in the Texas panhandle area. I love the people. The Texans know how to keep their citizens from paying Federal taxes it is secession. Unfortunately they realize that it took assistance from the federal government to win independence from Mexico and to become a state and that same government would now fight against them to secede… They don’t desire a new civil war any more than anyone else. If things don’t change I fear it may come regardless of desire. The Texans will not relinquish their arms.

I think Texas is a little too hyped up on drug issues, and this was a seriously bad decision predicated on that. No one ever wants to look at the facts when they make policy decisions. and at some point, they decide the "problem" is more important that peoples' rights when it comes to the "cure"

They have never read, or even heard of, Bastiat.

Or, obviously, any of the Austrians either...

Good for you. That news has disturbed me greatly, and I've been hoping that the good people of Texas will rise up and demand redress.

Though I've made snide remarks here in the past about Texas' topography, I do love the people of Texas. It's good to hear that (as usual) Texans are doing the right thing.

If confiscation is coming I will have no choice but to buy a Hi-Point via permit and sell and trade all of my existing guns. That way I have something to hand over when they come and I still have my modest arsenal intact. That's probably the smartest way to go. I don't want to stop a few on my doorstep only to have to live in the woods for the remainder of my days as a full on manhunt is directed towards me.

And one year ago almost to the day Obama signed the NDAA Act which allows police, and the military to arrest anyone for anything deemed by the president as an act of terrorism. Imagine what will happen in one more year, and one more year after that?

Confiscation won't work where I live. But the goofy New Yorkers will go along with it as usual. So the politicians will believe they can do that kind of thing everywhere. But they can't.

Ya gotta give 'em points for using all the right key words, that perk up the ears of the sheep, even if it doesn't make a lick of sense. "Distributing", "funding", "States", "Program", "local economies", "concerns", "recession", "fiscal cliff". Bingo! We have a winner. Baaaaahaahaa

“Distributing funding to the states to run buyback programs... could provide a jolt to local economies that have stagnated in the wake of the recession and concerns over the fiscal cliff.”

    Wait... what?!

Anybody who participates in one of these gun "buy backs" deserves to be put on their list and get taxed on the money they get for selling a gun to the gov. Useful (yet useless) Idiots O-rama!
