Glad you enjoyed it, a year or so after we shot that she got on one of the network talent shows and made it into the the top 3. She has some serious physical issues, but you would never know it by her attitude.
I have always love Sue Foley, Samantha Fish and a few others. Then is an entirely separate class of high end guitarists like Stevie Via, Santriani and a little girl called Orianthe. (She was an opening act for Carlos Santana at 15 years old) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VHUdg...
U2's With Or Without You and Pearl Jam's Alive are good songs I've heard on my car radio, REM I still like but Dinosaur Jr. makes me allosaur think of a weak long necker I'd stalk and cut out of the herd to help improve the health and DNA transmissions of whatever long necker species he represents.
That link did not take me anywhere. Since old dino has not ever heard from Junior, I looked him up myself. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oPxxR... Besides that, I briefly listened in on other Dino Jrs like I did this one. Briefly because I found all the songs to be bland. Me likes REM~ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1hKSY...
Wow...thanks...I have had my feelers out, now and then something interesting shows up. It's tougher to work on some of the old stuff, Radio Shack is gone now, but they stopped selling supplies a long time ago. Got a TV guy in town though...he actually repairs flat screens, believe it or not. I get my tuner and vol/bal, pot cleaners from him. Found an old Fisher Receiver/amp, last month, one of their first in the HIFI world...nice quality piece but full of dust and dirt.
The old stereo stuff used to add a quality to the music, better than being there. New stuff is flat by comparison...clean, but flat, no dimension.
I have a client who is an audiophile he has well over $90,000 invested in equipment. I was told not to tell any of his friends because it doesn't fit his environazi's altruistic image that he projects. I will ask him if he has what you are looking for.
Of course it is just an opinion but I would say U2 Is the best alternative rock band of all-time. REM. Pearl Jam, and even Dinosaur Jr. were very good. If you haven't heard Dino Jr. listen to the quitar solo Starting at 3:09 https://youth.be/RUe7kkXlepE.
For two or three years I thought Mazzy Star was the woman's name. Nope! Just like Blondie is not Blondie the singer but Debbie Harry, simple PC research reveals that Mazzy Star is the name of the band and the vocalist is Hope Sandoval. Mazzy Star may be the best of the so-called "alternate rock" bands, which all in all put some bland music on the radio for a short period of time during the 90s. Hope has her own site which as I write has a very bland song featured on it. It's not one that really rocks like this one- ohttps://http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X6TLqY...
Oh yea, ever since Boss made a 4" speaker that reproduced 20hz bass...the market has gone through the roof...unfortunately, the tech has been misused at the expense of sound quality overall. We used to call ourselves Audiophiles back in the day...always striving for the deepest sounds and the highest, faintest sounds with absolute clarity, no noise, and no distortion. That was very hard to achieve with reel to reel, 8track and vinyl.
But some of us were able to do it...I remember using a static reducing gun on my records, sound pumped through an adjustable dolby noise reduction systems, then built back up with eq's, echo chambers and Omni spacial enhancements.
But even with CD's and Mp3's there is something missing in today's recordings that were ever present and pleasing with old tech. Something digits can't catch.
If I can make up for a bit of hearing loss, when I can slow down a bit and have some real quality time for myself, I want to remix some CD's I have with the equipment I have been gathering to do just that. I've got a 10 band eq but what I really want is a 12 band Bic Equalizer with 18db +/- attuation. Just haven't found one yet, (most today have been laying around and are in bad shape)...funny, I used to own 3 stores full of them.
Thanks Dino, OMG that is a beautiful woman . Now I know why this is my nephew's favorite band LOL. The slide guitar so subtle and clear. Great tune and Quite a contrast to Samantha Fish.
Some of my friends made speakers lining the inside with egg cartons , if the music was good they all sounded fine to me. About fifteen years ago for the BW's childrens fitness studio we bought two Klipsch speakers about twelve inches by five inches and maybe 5 inches deep holy smokes do they put out amazing sound the best I ever heard.
Moving all my CDs from the from the house to my car due to a broken old stereo I'm not going to replace, me dino rediscovered Mazzy Star and have found myself humming bits of this song for the last two weeks~ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mgF48...
A few were...even though it was in the middle of the week, got nothing but great comments on the sound and those familiar with stereos couldn't believe the system was only 25 watts per channel and how clean and crisp it was. Just imagine her voice echoing out in an empty old factory building...now that's music to the ears.
That's how one builds a sound system, not with money but with knowledge, skill, placement with a dedication to achieve the best sound possible for each environment. I miss those times, Just feeling the winter blues I guess, so the music is appropriate.
Back in the day, I consistently won contests against 1000 dollar Alpine systems with my 300 dollar Jensen/Pioneer purpose built systems that incorporated my own brand of applied direct and reflected sound, custom designed for each car. Later, I worked with Boss and eventually sold the business, with a patented speaker housing to Pioneer.
I guess the Name: Designer Audio LTD was apropos after all.
Those were the days before 20hz distorted pizza delivery noise.
No fair , LOL John Fogarty is one of the greatest of all time. Man does he have soul!
I was listening to the Rural Alberta Advantage on you tube and she popped up on the right. I love to see a woman play guitar like that. Here is a short song from this trio ,my oldest son Nick Turned us on to them.https://youtu.be/R7-2ZiEZmBQ
I built a stereo on our sailboat (37' Hunter) with 4 waterproof speakers in the cockpit, they rivaled the best pioneer speakers at the time. I would play this song at the Marina and the acoustics were awesome...sounded like she and Eric were right there...you could hear the music clearly on the island across the way at Cedar Island Marina, Clinton Conn,
Makes me want to go home and play it on my built-in Bose system in the family room...haven't used it in a while.
First I had seen or heard Rion . Quite a future ahead of her.
